Ford EcoSport [2013-2015] User Reviews

I have followed the car for last one year and booked within a week of its launch. I was lucky to get it fast. I own a mars red ecosport with ecoboost model. Total expenditure including accessories was 9.25L.

Exterior: Look is great,although few dont like the chromgrill in front. I love it. It gives an aggressive look to the car. I do enjoy people noticing my car even today on streets.

On the first day of my office, there was a crowd around my car noticing it and i had to take  friends mainly doctors on their request for a test drive. I am not exaggerating but a few changed their decision to buy other car after a single drive.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Driver height adjustment is great. You can see a lot more with height adjusted. Talking on Bluetooth is clear and crisp and music/audio system is great. Sync is not that great and may not follow your command precisely(for example it may call mama in case of nana and play a song diff from your command).

Mine is a small family so cant comment much on rear space. I feel it is adequate.

Another thing i like about the car is the built quality. Its a solid car. Please try to open one of its door and you will come to know from its weight.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: the car shows it power above 30-40 km speed. While overtaking if strong brake is applied, you have to shoft gear down or may feel underpowered. The car runs over small cracks with ease but stiff suspension is felt over moderate sized speed breakers.

I have driven around 1700 kms and my average mileage now in city is around 12-13. Hoping to get a mileage above 15 after first service.

Ride Quality & Handling: The best feature in the car. You can drive few hundred kms without tiredness. On my last trip to Puri, asked my wife to guess the speed and her answer was around 60-70. (I was driving at 110- my max speed in the car).

Handling is very easy in city conditions and believe me you can move the steering with a finger only.

You feel secure in the car due to solid built and the brake is perfect with ABS.

Final Words: Worth my wait and research for last one year. I wait to drive this car every morning.

Areas of improvement  :SUSPENSION CAN BE MODERATED. HEAVY DOORS MAY NOT LOCK IF NOT PROPERLY PUSHED.LIGHT SWITCH ELSEWHERE IS AWKWARD.

Exterior Good look, feeling and pleasure of owning compact SUV at a price of a sedan!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nothing great!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Useless. neither there is a pick-up nor performance as claimed by Ford! As far as fuel economy, Ford is a cheater, as against 19 kms. claimed, I have got just around 11 kms!!! As regard gearbox, it is not at all smooth and in fact the Ecoboost engine actually is a myth - with no power comparable to 16. litre engine, one ends up just changing the gears in city drive condition - no pleasure of driving.

Ride Quality & Handling Nothing great.

Final Words Ford is a cheater. I paid much more for Ford Ecosport Ecoboost going by the tall claims - but right from purchase experience to performance, ford is a complete fraud!?!?

Areas of improvement Please stop cheating and fooling people.

Exterior Ok.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lot of squeaky sound internally, possible the internal fittings are not designed properly.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Clutch and gear problems. Clutch plate had to replaced after 3500 kms, but the problem is still persisting and I have to haggle with Ford India to attend to the vehicle.  Absolutely poor customer service. There are issues around their dealer SC Ford Goregaon and no action taken by Ford India.

Final Words Beware! Think twice before buying Ford India vehicle. Don't expect any service from Ford India. Very few dealers in Mumbai and in last three months, I have to send my vehicle to workshop for clutch/gear problems at least 3 times and the problem remains unresolved. I must have spent over Rs 4000 only for sending the vehicle to workshop.

Areas of improvement Customer service and quality of parts. Will Ford Company treat a customer in US in the same manner as in India?

Exterior Great looks and styling. Excellent paint quality

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lots of gadgets. Perhaps a bit over the top with too many buttons. Fairly comfy seating for four adults / well-fed adults ! Decent head and legroom. Effective aircon.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Medium torque but great pickup once it gets going. Touched 125+ in no time which will give a run for their money to most of the compact sedans in the 10.00 lac plus category. Very easy gears. Engine practically soundless. Fuel economy ? Wait and see I suppose.

Ride Quality & Handling Tightly sprung with good ground clearance. Soft steering (smallish wheel) and responsive.

Final Words Contemporary technology. Great looks. Well priced. Good alternative to the over-priced Duster with far less features.

Areas of improvement Decrease the clutter in the dashboard or one would require a co-pilot to fiddle with all the stuff. Make the front bucket seats a shade bigger & more comfy. Come out with bolder colours like Yellow etc. also.

Is was wondering if am i the only one complaining to Ford India about the loud rattling noise heard from my engine front side with Ac on, it almost sounds like a 5 year old car and as if my number plate is loose.

When i went to the Service center and listened to the Demo vehicle it sounded the same, and the team says its normal noise, it may be normal to them but not for me who purchased the topline and Eco boost supposed to be an award winning car.

Unfortunately during my purchase i was out of the country and didnt get enough time to check the vehicle before the purchase, no other cars of mine make this noise not even my 7 year old ford fiesta and my 5 year old Endeavour.

I am on the verge of selling it off if my problem is not solved its 1 month old and driven only few hundered kms.

Im requesting all ford ecosport owner to share their review on the same as i am taking this up with Ford India by all means.

Exterior Stunning exterior looks. From all angle the car looks very futuristic.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior space is a bit compact, yes that is because its sub 4 meter length car. Ford engineers has done a tremendous job by designing the interior space along with a big enough boot in a sub 4 meter lenght car. We should not look at the car in terms of a full blown SUV. You will be disappointed if you compare with that league.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is all new ecoboost. Its very powerfull.

Ride Quality & Handling Have not driven the car personally, but as per other reviews it has great ride quality and handling. The only negative is it doesn't have the ford DNA steering handling. Steering is very light as compared to other Ford vehicle.

Final Words Its a value for money vehicle.

Areas of improvement Only improvenet as per me should be in the rear seat space. It is cramp for 3 people.

Exterior Very Attractive.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is comfortable for Four  that is 3+1. More than that it will be crowdwd. The styling is fantastic. The driver seat has all the features required.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.0 Petrol engine is very powerful. The drive quality is good. I have not gone for the long drive which I plan to do this month. The mileage claimed by the company and ARAI standards sounds exaggerated. I will have to wait till I cross 2500 KMs and the first service. The gears are smooth and the drive quality is good.

Ride Quality & Handling Handling of Car is fantastic. The drive is fantastic. It is a powerful car. If you take out you eyes off the Speedometer you will not realised the speed with which you are traveling. It is beatiful drive. There rae lot of features except the Cruise control. At this price we can not expect all the features of high end cars.

Final Words It is a stael at this price. If you like a petrol vehicle go ahead without hesitation.
