4.0 Exterior | 4.0 Comfort | 3.0 Performance |
3.0 Fuel Economy | 4.0 Value for Money |
Exterior This is the vehicle which one would admire at first look. exteriors are great, every thing is perfectly designed. Rear door mounted wheel adds SUV feel. alloys are too good in looks. Build quality is really strong.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Plastic of dashboard, doors is of bad quality, gives a feel of cheap vehicle. This American car manufacturer should have considered to put turn indicator lever on right hand, they have simply done cost cutting here by simply putting the steering column as it is from left hand driven American market to right hand driven Indian market, which is really awkward. When you are overtaking or in bad traffic your left hand is always on gear knob which will cause problem in turning indicator or flashing head lamps.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is quite ok, I test drove diesel & didn't feel the lag in any gear (whereas I feel in 2nd gear in my i20 diesel). Gearbox is not that smooth as in my i20. ecosport needs improvement on gearbox, I must say this. Also, the pull in every gear is not equivalent to i20, though ecosport is 1500CC beast & i20 runs 1400CC with 220NM tourque which is a great puller.
Ride Quality & Handling It drives nicely in traffic & even sharp turns it handels well.
Final Words
1) I would not buy this vehicle for it's poor plastic quality, no reverse parking camera, turn indicator lever on left side.
2) But I would buy this for SUV feel, good ground clearance (as I drive mostly on highways), strong body.
Areas of improvement Ford should do improvement on plastic quality, reverse parking camera should be factory fitted atleast in top model (I love this in my i20).
sturdiness, spacious/roomy, high ground clearanceno reverse parking camera even in top model, poor plastic quality in dash & in doors, gear box
