A Great all rounder from Ford

Exterior It is a good looking car and should age well with its striking looks . Build quality is also quite good, the doors and the boot Door are heavy and shut with a good Thud. 16 Inch Alloys look great.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior space is more than adequate for a family of 4 people. I'm six feet tall but still able to find a comfortable driving position and even then the rear seats have decent leg Room. Dashboard design is funky and blue lighting in the night looks really cool , and all the controls are very ergonomically placed. Top end (O) model has pretty much all the features needed alongwith 6 airbags for Safety. Rear seat comfort is also adequate though seating 3 medium size adults together is a sueeze. AC is again very good and cools the cabin very quickly. Note that the Auto AC defaults to the fastest fan speed once you switch it on and this makes a lot of noise which is quite irritating. Key here is to let the AC run in normal mode for 5 -7 minutes on a hot day and then switch the Auto AC and it then works fine.  Even the Audio system sounds quite loud and clear and should serve the purpose for most people without any need for additional fitments even though I would have preferred to have the tweeters in there instead of just the dummy ones to further enhance the music experience

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Ecoboost engine is a great one , dosent sound and feel like a 1 litre engine at all and once you get used to the Turbo lag and learn to manage the gears it is quite enjoyable to drive even in the city. There is turbo Lag below 1500 RPM but once the Turbo spools it is really a hoot to drive and I really love the way it sounds, revs up and performs . Overall fuel economy Im getting is around 11 KMPL which seems decent as have done around 3000 Kms till date. Ford service people say it should increase further post 4000 Kms of Run in and I would be happy to get around 12-13 KMPL in the city. Note that the mileage does reduce quite a bit to around 8-9 KMPL once you give the engine a strong push

Ride Quality & Handling Overall Ride quality is excellent, I drive over quite a few broken ones daily (courtesy Gurgaon Roads) and it has a pliant and silent suspension with only the very large craters thumping through and being felt in the cabin. Highway stability is also great, I have driven at 140 KMH on Jaipur highway and the car felt rock solid. Braking from the Goodyear tyres is upto the mark. Handling is also predictable and the steering feels accurate and responsive and there is minimal body roll even while attacking corners at reasonable speeds

Final Words Overall a really great overall car from Ford and ticks most of the boxes as far as a urban SUV is concerned. Seems to be a good buy (though had to wait 8 months to get the car)  and even am quite satisifed with the service provided by the Ford team till now . Heard that the waiting period is now reduced which should be a good thing for people looking to buy one. People who love driving and prefer petrol cars should definately consider the Ecoboost version as an option and you wont be disappointed

Areas of improvement The feet touches the steering column while pressing the clutch sometimes which is irritating. The dasboard though looks great but quality of plastics and fit and finish can be improved. Ford should provide EBD and Hill start/stop Assist even in the other models as currently these are available in the the Automatic version.
