Exterior
Very Smartly designed for a sub 4 meter.
Right balance of SUV and Urban car - A definite head turner on the road
High Ground Clerance makes is easy to handle pot holes and also easy to enter and exit for tall people
Side Pillar styling hides objects on corners while driving, be careful for 2 wheelers and pedestrians while taking a turn
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
A dashing dashboard , having a nokia kepad style center panel
MID and fuel display adequate for a sub 10 L car - cant ask for more
Ample legroom for driver and co driver , lots of bottle storage spaces
Shoulder space and hand stretching a problem - specially if you are driving a mid size sedan like me.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
1.5 TDCI with 90 BHP is quite responsive for urban needs
FE on test drive showed 21 kmpl! which is excellent
Smooth gear shift- Thats big plus from a normal SUV's in urban traffic
Gear shift at less than 1000 RPM may get turbo lag , however above 1500 its smooth at any gear.
Ride Quality & Handling
Excellent Ride quality - takes corners with confidence for car as heighted as this
Steering very very smooth - may not be so accurate as fiesta but i liked
Suspensions - a bit harder to most sedan so pot holes may give a bit of jerk but it also stabilises it on higher speeds - so not much to complain here.
A truely drivers car like most from Ford.
Final Words
if you have a Family of 4 who use car for daily commuting and occasion weekending long drive , this the ideal car for you.
Areas of improvement
Ford came prepared for the marketing before this delayed launch. Still they struggle with deliveries. This needs to addressed fast.
They have also lost cutomer faith with steep price increase , no protection for cutomers who booked and reducing important feathers like keyless entry from Titanium model.
Informed customers like me are now looking elsewhere!!!

Exterior
I have test driven Ford Ecosport and Duster and finally Booked Ecosport 1.5 Trend TDCi. In my observation, Ford Ecosport is the only vechile in the price bracket of 6-9 lakhs where you don't compromise on looks. It looks great from every angle, be it front, Rear or Sideway. The Front has got Killer looks and Rear with mounted tyre too differentiate it with other Compact SUVs ( I didn't like Safari Strom coming without Rear mounted tyre) . In nutshell this vechile has got the modern techy looks in comparision to any other vechile in sub 10 Lakh Segment .
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Personally, I like beige interior as it gives you impression of a roomy cabin, but considering that Ford is sticking to the Sports theme, Black is acceptable. Dashboard seems to be little extended, which has eaten up space of the cabin. Front seats are quite comfortable, with height adjustement and both way adjustment of steering columan, it becomes suitable for varied height of Drivers. Cabin finish is good but has got some improvement areas. Rear head space is good but leg space is ok ok. Overall there is a little compromise in terms of space as its sub 4 M SUV. But spending 200K more for little more space in Duster doesn't seems to be a good idea.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Comparing 1.5 Trend Diesal with Duster 85 ps RXL, Ecosport has got the edge. it has got better acceleration. I overtook a Merc- Benz Bus at 140KM/hr and dont have to think twice. Bracking is great with ABS. I applied at 140KMPH and was on 80KMPH in no time without any jerky feeling. I also liked the Electronically assisted Steering as my old Indigo LX too have the same and feels too good in city driving. Can't comment about fuel economy. Gearbox too is smooth and is tuned for city ride rather than highway drive.
Ride Quality & Handling
Handling is good but at high speed it has good little body roll while turning. Overall ride qualtiy is good but is not comparable to a sedan in the same price range.
Final Words
Ecosport is VFM as you won't find this good looking and feature rich Vechile in this Price Bracket. In the price range of 7-9 lakhs, you will find most hatchback converted sedans like Dzire, Amaze or Base models of Sunny/Scala, so Ecosport seems to be a better option as its a crossoever. Spending 2 Lakhs more on underpowered Duster (85 PS) is a insane idea ( Atleast for me). Yes, if you can spend more, then you have got many options like XUV500, Scorpio, Duster 110 PS in SUV segment or Cruze, Vento, Verna in Sedan.

Exterior Much has already been said about the Ecosport's exteriors. You either love'em or hate'em, but can't ignore them. To me, personally, the black door handles & mirrors appeal more than the body coloured on upper variants, as they enhance the butch & macho look of the car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front seats are definitely more comfortable than the almost flat rear bench seat (in Ambiente) However notheing much to complain here. Plastic quality is, imho, really good, way better than even the Amaze, City iVTEC, or Verna. Black grey looks classy (i hate beige - irritates when driving against the sun, as the beige tend to cast reflection on the windscreen).
So many stowage spaces & cubbyholes, no hump on the rear floor & a decently large boot add to the big hatch image.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its been a sheer pleasure driving this car around. Slick & smooth gear shifts, and power assisted feather-light steering makes driving in traffic a breeze. I think I'm getting a fuel economy of around 16-17 in city traffic (only 230km clocked as yet).
I just follow these guidelines very strictly:
First km of the day at almost idling speed (for the turbo to warmup)
Focus your eyes on the road about 400m ahead and then decide whether you really want to floor the gas pedal. (accelerating-braking too often takes toll on fuel economy).
Ride Quality & Handling This is definitely one of the best in class. I'd like to compare it with the Innova or even CRV or Fortuner. Very pliant ride.
Final Words I'm glad I had the patience to wait for the ecosport and that I did not buy the rapid or verna diesel that were under consideration.
Areas of improvement Doors closing is inconsistent. Handbrake lever is for the side passenger to operate as the lever is too close to the seatbelt clamp. Seats could have been a wee bit wide.
Styling, fuel economy, commanding driver's positionHand brake lever position LHD oriented, no Tachometer.Exterior/Styles

Ford India on sept. 2013 has increased its car price of its newly launched car ford eco sport after seeing the response from the customer. I booked base model on 12-7-13 from Noida Ford after paying the booking amount of Rs 50000/. Dealer gave me written assurance that the delivery would be made avialable 4-5 months. I post several email to mdford and their custmail id, about the delivery of the car they told me to take the delivery of higer model i.e Triedent which is going to cost me more Rs 90000/ and the feature are not more important to me. They are not ready to deliver the car to me and not giving any time. I am just planning to drop my idea to cancealled the booking or either to take action against the ford india and dealer Nodia ford.

I was really attarcted to Ford Ecosports by its reviews online and its looks and features.
Though I had poor experience with earlier Ford dealership in Pune I still wanted to give it a try.
Called the dealer "Planet Ford" on Senapati Bapat road, today morning. They said they are not booking any petrol version. I was fine with it and wanted to see and test drive the diesel version.
I asked if I can get a test drive on which the person seemed hesitant, I then confirmed I would be dropping at the showroom for seeing and may be take a test drive to which he agreed.
I reached the showroom around 2:30Pm. On reaching there I enquired about the car and the sales person there was very reluctant telling about this car as the bookings for petrol was stopped and he simply denied a test drive. He told me to first book the vehicle and then he would arrange a test drive.
I really do not understand, in a consumer's perspectice how can a customer decide wiithout even seeing the car. Is it the way a customer oriented organization works.
I am very pissed off at the attitude with which the dealship guys talked, may be they are not interested in customers as they are not getting any bookings. I think if this is the way they deal with customers, its not going to be a long journey for ford, cause I would never return back to ford in my life and there are just too many choices in the market now. Reason if they are not interested in selling how can I even trust them for service .
Bye Ford

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Drove at a stretch from nagpur to banglore to deliver it to my son without tiring a bit very comfy, space is adequare, fully loaded with features.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It hasa superb engine, gives good fuel economy on highways ad decent mjleage in city, has an excellent gearbox.
Ride Quality & Handling Smooth noiseless responsive vehicle very very good handler on any surface.
Final Words Going to get one more formyself very sturdy vehicle. will depend upon service feedback will hate to see such a car fail due tocompanys service inefficiency so buckle upford you have a winner here so take stringent effors on this one. Fallen in love with it from the first ride.

Guys, I would not comment as the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine Ecosport Vehicle is a bad choice. However, during my recent trip in the hilly region, compelled the turbo to put that extra effort which resulted in turbo port turning red with coolant boiling in the reservoir. The Clutch plate assembly has worn out within 2000 KMS and Flywheel damaged. Has anyone faced the same issue? Ecoboost engine cannot take the steep roads from a dead stop condition until unless enormous amount of turbo is generated? Ford is not in a mood to tell me the exact technical issues. They blame me for my driving conditions. I am not new to driving cars and have covered more than 80000 kms in my previous cars and not a complaint of clutch wear out or replacement.

Exterior
Definitely the Exterior looks are to die for, getting a SUV within the same cost levels of a mid segment sedan, changes the game.
The body build quality is robust, you can make it from the doors itself, which are heavy and sturdy, giving you the feel of being inside a sturdy and secure vehicle, (but this has adrawback as well !!)
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
I feel the interiors could have been done beter, firstly the plastic quality could have been improved. The digital display in monochrome blue could have been a notch better, by including a touch screen infotainment. A rear AC vent again would have been good, but the AC is really strong.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The Engine performance and Gearbox are the real bummers. The Engine size and vehicle weight do not go hand in hand. The vehicle is really too heavy for the Engine to pull it. The engine moans when you are driving on slopes. (I dont know if the issue is with my vehicle or same accross all).
While on the first gear the vehicle would really jump off, but thereafter the pickup is real low, infact gearshits are needed at arround 3500 rpm, thereby becoming a fuel guzler. I am getting a mileage of arround 10.5 Km /L while the brochure saya it is about 18 Km / L.'
My expectation was for a much more powerful car, and it has been a total let down.
Ride Quality & Handling
The ride quality is quite soomth and so is the handling. But for reverse parking it is better to have rear parking camera / sensors, as the rear visibility is very poor.
Final Words
Overall, the vehicle is not a value for money, today there are better vehicles in the same segment giving better value for money
