Punto is having serious quality problems

 

Exterior Looks good.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Reasonable for the size.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Not so great especially  while overtaking.

 

Ride Quality & Handling That is the one good thing about this car

 I took delivery of the car on 20-7-09 from RF Motors, Cochin. After 5000 KM I found that there is a dip in oil  level  and I reported the same to the service engineer at CONCORD MOTORS,Cochin. But they told me that this may be because the car is new and they simply toped up the engine oil.However the problem persisted and the car consumed one lit. oil for every 5000 Km.By the time I had done 15000 Km, while engaging the reverse gear the Car start to make a grinding noise and here again the service engineer advised me to be more precise to engage the reverse gear.Now I had done 30000 Km and took the vehicle to the dealer for the 3rd service. Fortunately this time  the service engineer at CONCORD Motors, Cochin got convinced that there is a problem with the Turbo as well as gearbox and the same shall be rectified as and when spares arrived and I am now waiting for their call. But the most alarming thing about this car is it shows signs of rusting at many places and I do not know what they are going to do with this problem. The service engineer told me that he had sent photographs to Fiat and waiting for their reply. In Kerala the labor cost is too high and it will be very expensive to have any body repair. This is not definitely expected from Fiat.
