Exterior One of the best looking cars in the world. Very Sturdy body.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) In 90HP Punto Plastic Quality improved by FIAT India. Automatic Climate Control is chiller. On Board Computer is really helpful.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox No Word to describe this part of the car. I am getting 17-18kmpl in City & 20+ on Highway. Power delivery is excellent along with great pickup and mileage. Car does not require too much gear shifting in city as well as on highway.

Ride Quality & Handling You will love this car on cornering. Wider 195 profile tyres helps car a lot on this department. You will beat any other car in Ride Quality and Handling.

Final Words If you have bugdet of 7.5 lacs then go close your eyes and go for 90HP Punto. Its really worth, you will never realise that you are driving diesel carm Punto is dam smooth. :-)

      Areas of improvement NA.

Blue & Me, 15" Alloys and Wider Tyres for great stability, Ride & handling, Power Delivery, Best FETurning Radius, Small Rear Glass

      Exterior

Any one who see the car will say WOW... what a design!!!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Dash board features are good compare to any other vehicle in the segment. Space is also excellent if the person is not 6 feet height. Suspension is like anything you will not feel the bumpy ride either in front seat/rear seat.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

10 days back i bought 1.3 active multijet diesel model and went to home town from chennai to ongole. I got around 20.3 kmpl on highway without any services. (Which car will give this much mileage?). If you cross the speed of 70kmph then you won't feel that you are driving dielsel car and the power is Awesome and you have any noise from engine. what else is a car required on high way.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Yes, now let me tell you about the controle and stability on highway.. If the car is running with speed of 120kmph, you will not feel anything like it is running on 120kmph. you can controle it with very ease.

      Final Words

Dear friends, I know how difficult to decide and buy a new car.. It was happend to me also. i was reading the reviews like anything before going to punto.. I checked the cars like Swift, figo, vista quadrajet and punto 1.3 multijet. I would like to suggest those who want to buy a car with diesel variant check the below points which checked in all the above cars. Check Design, Built quality (I can bet, no other is car stronger than Punto. I would request to press any part of the swift body, with out stress the body <metal sheet> will go inside and do the same with punto??? ), driving Comfort, boot space, Interior quality.. (Once again Check with each and every part of the plastics used in punto and with cars mentioned above. Yourself can find answer.. I would like suggest to check the gear box setup and door plastics, seat plastics etc..).

Normally people always says maruthi is the best, but If you ask me maruthi last (sorry guys those who are maruthi lovers) with out any facilities they are selling the cars.. I would suggest the car buyers just go and see the cars available in the market and check the features and offers offering by other manufacturers and decide to buy the car. For example i got the punto 1.3 active multijet for Rs 5.56 lacs including offers like, corporate offer 12000, Insurance free for around 16000, Extended warranty worth Rs 5000. Any other manufacturer is giving these things?????

Its really a value for money car... Only thing is you should think that TATA FIAT service. If you are staying in metro city then you can forget this also?

      Areas of improvement

Will find and let you know.

Style, Fuel economy (20.3 kmpl), Safety.Central locking in 1.3 Active version

I was waiting for a good Hatch back Diesel .Why I choose diesel is because , new generation diesel engines are trouble free . Even though my running is low , running cost will be low  in city blocks. The expectation levels of an average Indian buyer is being raised by every new launch. It started by Fabia ,then Ritz and now Punto and I20.Fabia has a noisy 3 cylinder engine ,but nicely built , costly spares  , and Ritz with very poor interiors and odd shape both gets second preference for me now.And Punto I had a closer inspection and test drive .Good built ,Good drive and nice interiors and at a reasonably good price ,its a nice package.Gear shifts are butter smooth and suspensions  takes road dents with confidence .Turning smooth , frequent gear changes in city may not be required .We have to assume that TATA will do justice to their reputation by service support. They claim now Spare parts are not costly and oil change is required only at 30000 Km intervals CRDi and Multi jet are  technically the same concept . But Hyundai  is gambling with a higher price tag to en cash their service reputation in India .Fiat multijet is well proven , with larger number of engines  in operation worldwide including in India .Punto definitly is not a race car in terms of power .But both in city and highway the power  and gear ratio combination is just fine.If service support is made user friendly , Fiat can probably repeat their success elsewhere in the world with Grande punto  ,in India also .For the time being I have set my mind on Punto .I am taking a test drive on I20 next week and will give my feed back here.

I have completed  test drive of various brands and Punto twice .This time I went for a long drive.I also read various reviews published in various sites. After all these I have booked Punto emotion 1.3 The reasons are as follows, if it helps any of you

The views expressed are exclusively based on my study and tastes ,I don't want to put to disgrace any other brands. One concern about punto is its service back up and long term commitment  ,Then engine power .I hope Fiat will not miss an opportunity this time .They have a good product, reasonably priced, affordable . I Thank Fiat for this bold new drive.

I expressed my concern about commitment of Fiat to India, at their CEO desk at their site .I am happy , that I got an assurance they are here for long stint .I wish good luck to them .Actually I was thinking of buying a sedan ,But our parking spaces are becoming a problem , world is also going for small cars so I also find hatch backs with a big car drive feel ,that is what punto is exactly I find the power delivery just ok with me in all my test drives .I would like to go with my experience. Handling and  drive excellent in all speeds.Shape fine compared to any other brands. Most important is value for money. A sedan with same features  ,Fiesta  is costing 2.5 to 3 lakhs more.

I took delivery of my vehicle and has driven for the last two days

Excellent control. drive superb , 100 % satisfaction, you have to experience the difference of this european beauty. You feel the tank like built and feather control a rare combination .I recommend this diesel car for anybody looking at 5-7 lakhs range .Go ahead and go for a long test drive now .

Also I would like to give an excellent observation  from  Mr Kshitij who has written a review here in Car wales , Quote . "Fiat and only Fiat alone can stop the Punto from challenging for the top position " un quote , I add, in its segment , by not attending to service aspects properly and minor to quality details. Is FIAT-TATA  listening ? Grande Welcome FIAT, back to India and let us celiberate the return of the emperror of VFM.Through TATA who people in India admaire for their values In Business.

      Up date 1300 Km

I should admit I really enjoyed the drive so far PERFECT control and JOY in ride at  any speed .I have not felt a satisfaction like this in cars much costlier than this .Forget resale value notions, this car is for the present- this moment enjoy it !!

      Exterior

      The best I can imagine

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The look of the plastics may irk you. But you can more than take them for robustness and comfort

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Good. I am already getting excellent engine response and 14-15 kmpl, which could improve after the 1st service.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Absolutely nothing to complain about here

      Final Words

This is not a car for the employee on a probation salary in his/her first job, nor for the stinking rich. For people like me who have worked hard for a few years and don't want to be taken for a ride (yet again), this is a car that will match its cost and grandeur with the your virtues. The only point to ponder over is whether Ford's Figo can do that still better. That judgment needs a long-term jury.

      Areas of improvement

Put in a cigarette lighter and ashtray, please - in all versions.

Awesome appearance; great interior comfort; excellent performanceNot the best car if you like to smoke a cigarette now and then - particularly now

Exterior The best looking hatch-back with high quality paint job and nice curves around. Simple awesome!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good and comfortable. Seats are flexible to accomodate more luggage, whenever required

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The pick up and roaring approach once u cross the 2000 rpm mark, instead of reading, one should feel to experience. Adding to this is that sleek gear transmission and compatible gearbox

Ride Quality & Handling I am not exaggerative if i say that my punto is better than Honda city model. Honda city is great in straight drive, whereas at curves, you have to reduce the speed to control the vehicle. But in the case of punto, even at 100kmph, i am easy to negotiate curves in the highways with confidence. Thanks to the body shape and heavy unladen weight of the body.

Final Words The best available hatchback, if u r interested in good ride, concerned abt ur safety and long-term usage.

Areas of improvement Central locking facility is not availabel in ACTIVE model, which is required very much.

Ultimate in driving pleasurePoor rear lights & thick 'C' pillar

Exterior This is easily the best-looking car in its class on the road, and that significantly influenced my decision to buy it.  (Well, I like the VW Polo too, but it has too long a waiting time, dealers weren't conveniently located, and I wasn't sure of service.)  The paintwork and finish looks top-notch.  And this morning I was rear-ended by a bus at a traffic signal, and the impact seemed significant but there is only a minor scratch on the bumper.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) It is a spacious and comfortable car.  I previously drove the Fiat Uno and that felt just a little roomier and airier: the Punto is luxurious but has a more "padded" feel.  It however feels much roomier than other comparable hatchbacks I've been in.  People complain about the fit-finish of plastics, but at least in the new car, it all looks fine to me.  The display is easy to read and useful (eg, tells you precisely which door is open, etc).  A lot of it is programmable.  Boot space is I think a little less than the Uno, but far more than most current hatchbacks in India.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine feels smooth to ride.  Pickup is excellent, even with the AC on, except in a narrow range when one shifts up to 2nd gear at around 1000 RPM: it seems to take a second or so for the accelerator to "kick in".  I haven't yet driven it outside the city, so the maximum I have touched is about 70 km/h.  It handles very well.  Gear shifts are smooth and my initial impression is that the fuel economy will be around 13-14 in city conditions with partial use of AC -- however, it is too early to say on that.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent.  Handles bumps beautifully, feels very stable at high speeds.

Final Words It is a pity that Fiat has not found greater success with this car, which, it seems to me, is much better than most hatchbacks in its price range.   I bought this car because its predecessor, the Uno, was a great car and this seems a worthy successor.  The Uno's failure in India was mostly the fault of Premier Automobiles.  I hope the Fiat-Tata partnership will prove more enduring.

Areas of improvement The turning radius is much greater than the Uno's was, despite the power steering which my Uno lacked.  I'm sure this could have been improved.  But I don't know how it compares with other modern hatchbacks.  When driving the Uno, it seemed to me that other drivers took unnecessarily wide turns on the road -- but perhaps that's all that the newer cars are capable of.

The styling, the boot space, the comfort of the seats, performance2nd gear pickup sometimes poor, high turning radius

Have Purchased a New Fiat Punto Grande Active (1.3) on March 2011. It was a 2010 Model got a Good Offer for that.

It was amazing Have driven 41000 KMs in last 12 Months.  Was so much comfortable driving it.  Tested Driving other Cars in the Segment, Never got the Same comfort whih i got in punto.

The Interior's of other cars are absolutly no Match to that of Fiat Punto.

I met with a Major Accident 2Days back while Travelling around 100 KM/H.

Lost control went out of the road in attempt to avoid a Cow which Just appeared in a Bend.  Hit Three Cement Barricades and the Car Climbed over a Tree and Turned and Landed on the Fourth Cement Barricade.

The Car was completely Damaged from the Front.  I was wearing my Seat Belt when this Happened.  Gues What......... Came out clean  with minor Injuries.

People who saw the car post accident were stunned to see that the Driver is safe and in single Piece.

I am Really Thank full to Fiat for Building such a Strong Front Body.  Though I did not have ABS in the Car i was still safe.

The Car is Totaled and I have already Enquired for a New Car.

Guess again...... Its again a  Fiat Car.....

Thanks Fiat for Saving my Life......

Exterior Head turning design. Still get smitten by it looks even after pocessing the beauty for more than 1.4 years. Build quality is awesome, feels like a tank.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All basic features are available. Space is more than ok for 5 average adults.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Current milage - 33500. Fuel averge- 20-21 in summers with full AC. 22.5-24 in winters. with 2-3 passengers. Daily driving approx 90-100 Kms.(40% city 60% highway)

Fiat 1.3 L Multijet engine is the best one can get. Tata & Suzuki using them for their hatches and sedan is a proof of that. Gear's are perfectly matched with the engine. It would never allow you to drive in wrong gear. After 3rd gear one can drive in any gear at any speed. Instant milage feature lets you choose the speed, gear to control the fueal consumption.

I am yet to utilize the turbo feature fully. Travelled to nearby hill station with four adults and three below 8 kids with luggage. Never felt the power defficiency even on the mountain ghat roads. Still the round trip average was 21 km/l with AC.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is simply awesome. Suspension is like a dream. Can take any potholes smootly.

Final Words Service does not seem to be a issue. Have ot serviced 3 times (3k,15K,30K) and  2-3 other minor glitches were solved without any issues.

Areas of improvement I have not yet experienced any issue where i need to comment.
