I have been driving the car for the past one year. It has clocked around 20 k km. I am very satisfied with the car.

The underside of the car was brushed umpteen number of times. Apart from a few scratches, there have been no major damages. Good quality build, the door weighs a ton. The moment you shut the door, you feel secure like being inside a armoured vehicle

Great driving experience on the highways.

The after sales service has greatly improved, unlike what has been mentioned in some of the reviews. My car broke down, (some problem with Clutch SP). The service personnal repaired the car, where it had broken down. The cost was covered by warranty, there were no hassles. I was able to drive the car very next day.

Areas of improvement Should increase the ground clearance. Service centers are over crowded and very few. It would really great to have more.

Hi Guys, this varoon and i own a 1.3 multijet emotion punto.cars is awesome really hugs the road and goes because of its heavier body as compare to other hatchbacks.i drove this car for around 10 hrs in a stretch and i was the only driver and the drive was so comfortable i din feel like that i have driven it for 10 hrs all alone.coming to the styling part of it,its the sexiest car in its class really hats off to the Italian designer.it resembles to maserati though both comes from the same family.body is so strong,in fact i met with an accident wherein a santro dashed my front left fender and when i got down from my car to see the damage done,you would not believe nothing had happened just a small scratch came off on my paint and santro got dent.

coming to compare this car with others,i have never gone for any test drive except punto's test drive.the day i drove it i made my mind that i would be buying this italian monster.thought of going for swift and fabia diesel do came across my mind but again swift is the same old thing from last so many years frankly speaking apart from fiat engine there is nothing great in swift,poor suspensions,cheap plastic interiors and lot more in swift.where as fabia looks more of feminine kinda car and looks very soft.

You will enjoy the long drives in this italian beauty,very handy in traffic as well though i stay in delhi and i drive it for 100 kms every day,very comfortable i would rather say.never got chance to sit in back seats so no idea about that.

 

rear lamps would have been two and clearer,only one lamp is there that to is placed in rear bumper and when you are reversing your car its not easy to make out that this car is coming backwards.people walking on the roads also sometimes get confused because they dont see any backlifgts in the rear.

Gear box should have been made more peepy by fiat family,still fun to drive and proud to own.

 

those who have emotion and emotion pack,request you to always put on your front fog lamps so that we can put on that rear fog lamp which looks classy when its on ,only on  one side of thenbumper.

 

lets make it a cult that rear lamp.let it be on alwayz while driving in night.

Exterior SUPERBE ,LOOKS DECENT & BUITIFUL FROM OUT SIDE.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) FEATURES OF AROUND 12-18 LACS CARS,ENOUGH INSIDE SPACE FOR SITTING AS WELL BOOT SPACE, IN THIS CATOGERY CARS EVEN MORE SPACE THEN SOME OF SEDAN CARS LIKE DEZIRE,iNDIGO CS-INSIDE SPACE.I DRIVE 600 kM FROM AGRA TO LUDHIANA IN 12 HOURS TIME & FOUND NO TIREDNES AFTER THE 12 HOURS JOURNY ,VERY COMFERTABLE DRIVING SEAT.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox ENGINE IS VERY REFINED & SMOOTH GETTING AVERAGE OF AROUND 18-20 AFTER 5000 KM.GEAR BOX IS ALSO QUITE SUIFT.

 

Ride Quality & Handling RIDE QUALITY IS SUPERBE BUT SOME TIMES , CHASSIS PROTECTION SHEET HIT ON UNDULATION ROAD EVEN ON LESS SPEED.

 

Final Words VERY AMAZINGCAR & FEEL THIS CAR WILL BECOME NO 1 CAR OF THIS SEGMENT IN COING 2 TO 3 YEARS EVEN AFTER TATA-FIAT FLAGSHIP.VERY STRONG BY BODY WISE EVEN IN ACCIDENT INSIDE PERSONS WILL BE SAFE TILL A EXTENT IN MARUTI CARS THIS IS NOT THE CASE,I AM HAVING MARUTI ALTO TOO BUT I FEEL VERY SAFE WHILE DRAVING THIS CAR.THIS IS (DIESEL ON) VALU FOR MONY,PETROL ON IS UNDER POWER.

 

Areas of improvement GROUND CLEARANCE.

 

 

GOOD FULE ECONOMY,COMFORT,RIDE & HANDLINGGROUND CLEARENCE & REAR VEIW VISIBILITY.

 

Exterior Nice looks,  probably the best.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great ride quality, average space at back seat, seats do feel great, body is enough strong one feels safe inside, no viberations inside best pasrt is that even gear lever has been insulated from viberations.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Inspite of being more than 100 kg heavier than swift, not much loss in fuel economy, smooth shift, It gives more than 24 KmPL on highway, if you dont exceed 100 mark.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Great ride, perfet handling, beats bigger and more expensie cars.

 

Final Words A great product having an amazing Value for money, very aggresively priced,  in international maarket it is as expensive as Honda Jazz. Even after 18 months and 50,000 Kms it performs like a new one.

 

Areas of improvement After sales service, I bought it from Hind Motors Chandigrah, casual attitude of service teams is quite frustrating.

Exterior Good and the car gets a second look on the roads.Witnessed it while i went out on the test drives

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) FEATURES are commendable, hats off to the Punto Emotion Pack on this. I liked the Blue Me AND the insides look awful when you see the other cars like the Polo, Fabia etc.The rear leg room is very uncomfortable.Look at the Figo. It has plenty. While reversing you are not able to see the rear side of the car.Need to fix a reverse cameara at additional cost if I buy this car.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The petrol engine sounded OK, heard the mileage was awful--- around 9 kms per litre in city conditions in Chennai and 12 km on the highways.I find my Opel Corsa ( petrol ) which is 11 yrs old , a 1.6 fully loaded GLS gives me the same.Frankly it is still doing great even though i have done only 72,000 kms on this car with NO MAJOR REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS during this 11 yrs.I wonder if the punto will last me this long with no major headaches.The Gearbox was really not smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling FANTASTIC.

 

Final Words With all these limitations i still would like to buy this car.Possibly let my heart rule my mind.The more i see this car the more i need to buy it.Debating and looking at this since the past 8 months.I like the Petrol refinements over the diesel engines.I do know that only 20% of the Puntos sold are the Petrol versions and the Diesels are great to ride and reputed as well. My running is roughly 1200 kms in city and 300 kms on the highways every month.

 

Areas of improvement As suggested above PLUS Take TATAS out of picture and let FIAT handle everything-- from sales, service and spares. TATAS are no more the old TATAS of the yesteryears.

i20 Sportz Sparkle Blue-Bad experience by Sunrise Hyundai.Knocked out of list. Ritz VXi Bakers Chocolate-Front seats are flat and also feels a size smaller than the Others.Kicked out of the list.

Jazz Base Sherbet Blue-Too expensive.Pushed off by list. Vista65 Dual Tone Grey-The resale value is very bad.Bye-bye Vista,out of list now.

Micra XL Sunlight Orange-Poor dealer network.Decided to buy from Sky Nissan,Delhi,but hard to find.Taken out of list without a TD of the Car!!

Fabia Ambiente Cappucinoe Beige-Ok car.Loved the posh image,and the excellent quality.At the flipside,it was not fun to Drive.Ran to Nawab Motors and canceled the booking!!

Swift VXi Silky Silver-Wasn't it fun to drive.I say it was fun to drive.Swelte rear side,but also dated looking, Yes?Was out of list,even though I wanted it SO much!  

i10 Sportz Carbon Grey-Well its a brilliant car and booked a test drive car(HR 26 BG 9124)from Orion Hyundai but poor ride,was banged out of list.

Verito G4 BS-IV Twillight Blue-From Sri Durga Automobiles,a red G2 BS-III car was sent.I liked the car, but looked like the Logan,so was no longer in the list.

Indigo E-cs Burgundy-Tata cars have a bad image,I said.Did not test drive the E-cs. Linea Active Tuscan Wine-From the dealership Oberoi Motors,I test drove the car.And have booked a car for my wife,not me.I was more engrossed in the Grande Punto!!

Dzire VXi Midnight Black-Vis-a-vis edition of Swift.Booked it for no one!!Did not even test drive it!! Rio was hit out from list!!Hate the car a lot. I have 3 Figos in my family,no more Figos. Sx4 is not great, and VXi model is sparsely equipped. Then, I had an idea."I did not test drive the brilliant Punto,let me test  drive it,ok! Booked it finnaly.It is the best.Delivery around May.

I am writing this feedback after having driven this car for almost 1200 Kms. I brought his Car home on 10th April. Needless to say that this is the most beautiful car in its segment. It was only question about performance and handling and whether to go for a Car whose service is done by Tatas.

 

Exterior As good as it gets. Only Volkswagen Polo comes near in terms of exteriors. Truly stylish.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I would say the only issue is with quality of plastics. Dashboard size gives you a feeling of Sedan. Infact very few low level Sedans have this size of Dashboard. Space is pretty good for front and rear. The best part of this Car is the suspension. I drove Swift, Figo and felt nothing comes close to Punto.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is 76 BHP which is quite good. Infact I was buting 1.4 emotion but since it was stopped went ahead with 1.3 Dynamic as was not interested in 1.4 Emotion Pack. Fuel Economy is 13-14 KMPL in city. I drive from Powai to Goregaon daily and anyone in Mumbai will know the traffic conditions in this route. Gearbox is OK. I mean th ratio to speeds and gear is OK. Car Picks up from 3rd gear onwards and its almost linear. In 1.4 Emotion its not linear at all.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Thats the best part of this Car. A near perfect Ride Quality and Handling.

 

Final Words I followed my heart and bought this. Hopefully it should turn out to be a good decision in 3-5 years time as thats when you know everything.

 

Areas of improvement AC is quite average. Better Quality Plastics in Interiors. They look below average to be honest. I always believed Maruti has the worst interiors since I own 800 and Wagon R and Fiat has just done a little better on Plastic Quality. 

 

Exteriors, Good Ride Quality, Nice suspension, decent fuel economyaverage Interiors although Dashboard is the best in class, Average AC

 

I gifted it to my dad thinking it will be of 1200 cc engine so betr mileage and he will be safe inside plus as the car has a strong big built he will be able to handle it insteed of driving a 3 door car at this age. Where I failed is that it has very underpowered engine the car crawls in city at below 3o km/hr.so less power put on the ac ul see urself actually pushing it by ur hand in 2nd gear and make it above 30 in 3rd gear see again ul be pushing it with hands. I have literary cried with th pick up. And mileage thats fantastic never gonna come above 10km/ltr i bet in city or even in long drive. thats pethetic with 1200 cc engine. go for 1400 cc engine i am sure mileage wont change and ur cut of the problem of underpower atleast. now about ac..i went from mumbai to goa i tell u with fiull ac on i was sweating by back entire run in aprill 2010 at drivers seat driving ok. can any one tell me if i need to now install a 1400 cc engine in my punto is it possible by anyhow. bye the company. rest all in the car is the best in any offering  compare it with any car it rules, but pick up.ac.and mileage forget it.

Good built at 140 it doesn't shake even a little..good balanceLow mileage and poor pick up in city with ac on u have to push it with ur hands

 

Exterior Very Nicely shaped. Just as a sports car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very nuch specious in front. Even 6 feet persons can stretch their legs straight.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Best engine in disel variants. Sounds as good as petrol engine even on 120 plus equally spported by very good torque. Efficiency wise its 15 in city and 20 on highways which is good.

Ride Quality & Handling This car is truly a drivers car. No doubt its handling and ride is best. even on 150 km/h it seems to be very much under full control no other hatch back enjoys this. even on hilly curves this car grips the road like magnet. Its suspension too proven to be best in class as it tooks bad roads too with great ease.

Final Words Just spent 6 months to decide for better car to buy. Only after getting all the parameters analised of all available cars I took decision to own this car and now I am a proud houner of this car, It has just done 6000 km and still going better.

Areas of improvement Rear Pillars to be made sleek to improve backing visibility.
