Exterior Medium gray, beautiful paintwork. The sleek lines and front bulges make this car look really sleek. I love the positioning of the outer rear view mirrors - adds to the charm. The huge headlights and top mounted rear lights increase the looks of the car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) For the price, I got a lot of features. My Blaupunkt stereo comes with a bluetooth function as well as USB connectivity. Very useful. Where else would find adjustable steering for a base model? Front windows have power. I am 6.0' tall, and I find driving very comfortable, with the seat pushed all the way back. A six-footer might have some pain in the back, but that can be adjusted. The digital display giving all kinds of info such as fuel efficiency, amount of fuel left, etc. is really cool. Follow me headlamps are very useful. "My car" completes the package - I can set the overspeed indicator, etc.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Underpowered (what else can you expect from a 1.2 L engine?). However, since I am not a race driver, I am not complaining. Fuel efficiency was bad initially, but after first service, it has improved considerably. I get 12.5 in city and 15.5 on highway. Gears feel slightly unclear while shifting, clutch travel is a bit long, but I am used to it by now.

Ride Quality & Handling Simply superb. Good roads, bad roads, the Punto never complains. The steering is the best in its class. Very responsive. It is a weighted steering, hence feels solid in your hands. Handles curves and turns beautifully. Suspension is so good, that on straight roads, the Punto maintains a straight line, even when I take my hands of the wheel.

Final Words All in all, a lovely car, and I am really proud of my Punto. I love it!

Areas of improvement Interiors need to be a bit more classy. Turning radius is huge for a car of its size - that needs to be reduced. Tata Motors really need to improve the sales / delivery experience.

Exterior Looks very appealing. Higher ground clearance (>175 mm) would have been better considering the Indian roads

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Poor plastic parts. Rear seating is cramped; likely to pose problems for tall people (6' & above). The high-tec features present in the car are not clearly known to the dealers for explanation.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very good. The pick-up is very good, gear shifting is very smooth. The car handles well during slow speeds even at top gear thus eliminating the need for frequent gear shifting. This reduces the strain while driving in the city.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Very good especially while driving on the ECR (East-Coast-Road) stretch from Chennai to Mamallapuram.

Final Words A good & ideal car for a family of 3-4 persons. Looking into the cramped space in the rear, long drives not adviseable. The car would serve well for city driving - from office to home and for short distance week-end picnics.

Areas of improvement Improved plastic interiors. Should include rear parking sensors as a standard feature, considering the fact that the reversing lights are virtually not visible.

Good style and stunning looksPlastic interior parts not commensurate with the price. Should have included rear parking sensors.

Exterior The exterior is great with macho looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors are great which require proper fit & finish of the plastic components. The light orange illumination of the speed dials & instruments is pleasing. The audio system with 6 speaker system is awesome. The leg space in the front is very comfortable but when the front seats are pushed back, then there is very less leg room in the rear seat. A person with height 5'8" would not be comfortable with the front seats pushed back.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance is superb with a fuel economy of 22km/ltr on highways & 17 ~ 18km/ltr in cities with the ac functioning.

Ride Quality & Handling Suspension is very good. Road gripping at high speeds and specially at sharp curves is also excellent.

Final Words Sure value for money with great driving comfort & pleasure, latest features, with economy & running cost @ Rs 2/- per km.

      Areas of improvement

1] The drivers seat height adjustment feature is a flop. The seating level changes as you get in and out of the car & you need to re adjust the seating height. ( The height adjustment lever placement is not proper. Your thigh touches the lever as you get in & out of the car, which changes the height adjustment )

2] Ground clearence is not so good for Indian Roads with majority of roads have alot of potholes or are patched up with lots of speed breakers where a fully loaded car with 4 passengers surely brushes with the speed breakers.

3] The head rest support needs redesigning as you can pull out a head rest easily but you cannot push it back easily unless you have a pin like object to press the head rest locking mechanism that would allow you to push back the head rest.

4] double reflector head lights like palio would be more comfortable for night driving.

Great styling with latest features.need to improve on the plastics fit and finish

Exterior Clearly best looking car in this class .I was opting for swift & my wife was in fovour of  chevyUVa But when we both saw this car we fell in love with this car because of the stunning looks. we bought this car on 2nd Dec 2009 & have driven 18000km so far without any problem.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior space is comfortable for my family of 5  A/c is powerful & music system is good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is solid But the pickup is less in lower gears may be due to more weight of the vehicle But in Indian cities we can not accelerate 0-100 in 10sec. so that is not an issue. But on highways  i have driven upto 150km/hr. without any problem .The gearbox is smooth bu some times shifting to 5th gear is tricky. I have got consumption of 20km/L on Pune Banglore highway & abt 15km/L in Kolhapur city.

Ride Quality & Handling very good handling at high speeds i can take turns without reducing speed on highways suspensions are the best in this class.

Final Words This is one of the best premium hatch. Unfortunately there are so many adverse reviews  published regarding service etc. It scores in all three major areas like Engine, Chassis & suspensions which are contributing factors of any good car.also service at Kolhapur is ok I think lot of hallabulla about service network is created to defame such a wonderful product.

      Areas of improvement Ground clearance.

Exterior Great Looks whether front, side or back. Rear fog light could be double instead of single and same for reverse light.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good features specially Blue & Me. Automatic climate control, Music system with 6 speakers, steering mounted controls, etc. gives a feeling of big sedan. Digital display has lot of features to explore, you get real time mileage and even average of distance, time travel, mileage of your 2 trips. what else can you expect in a small car?

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent engine performance from the best in class engine even used by the rivals! Fuel economy is good (~17 after 25,000 KM). Smooth gearbox, good pickup.

Ride Quality & Handling Driving is very comfortable. Grip on the road is best. Good veiw of the road. But yes turning radius is quite high!

Final Words This is the safest car in its class with great features. Lovely car...

Areas of improvement Interior plastic quality should be better, back seat leg space should be more. Seat height adjustment lever should be replaced with some better option. USB should be on music system instead of inside the glove box.

Exterior If looks can kill, it's Fiat Punto. Just park your car anywhere and you will notice looks of admiration from passers by. Designed by Giorgito Giujiaro the automobile designer of the century.
Many renowned models including Vaxwagan Golf and Ford Mustang designed by him.
If looks alone can decide it is the car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Cool interir. Spacious. Superb AC. Blaupunkt suond system delivers crystal clean sound with good presence. Huge boot space.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great mileage. 19km/litre on diesel on city road condition. !7km with ac on. Sound less diesel engine gives the impression you are sriving a petrol car. Electronic Break Distribution System works like a charm.  You can drive at 20km/hr even in fourth gear. In fifth gear it gives the feeling of flying. In terms value for money it leaves competition way behind.

Ride Quality & Handling Shock absorber best in class. It just sticks to the road. Get a test ride and you will understand. You won't tire even after driving for hours becasde of driver seat design and adjustable wheel.

Final Words Well! I have become a fan of  Fiat. If I ever upgrade possibly I would buy a Linea. Great customer care. Your rating of the service center is tracked. Service center works hard to get a 10 rating and tries to satisfy you every possible way.
Before buying I test drove Figo, i20, Fabia and Ritz. I found Punto leaves all of them way behind in terms looks and driving comfort.

Areas of improvement Picckup in 2nd gear.

Great look, great mileage, best inclass driving comfortPoor pickup in 2nd gear

Let me start by saying that this is a car for ppl who go beyond "kitna deti hai" and "Itna mehenga??". Please DO NOT buy this car if you calculate the fuel price even before starting towards your destination. Please DO NOT buy this car if you think that you will take this car to service center often. Seriously fiat gives you a service interval of 3 months and then straight to 1 year, which other manufacturer gives you that? FIAT is discouraging users from coming to service center often (because of whatever TATA-FIAT JV issue), and they have got a product to help them out too. You will not have to go to service center unless you have banged this car. When you go for your regular servicing i doubt you treat it as a family outing. You go there, register your complaints and drop the car, collect it when they inform you, check for the problem and give it back to them if you are not satisfied. Thats about the after sales service (Again NOT for ppl who expect plush lounges with cute girls asking you for a drink).

You should go for this car if you want pure driving pleasure, road hugging high speed runs, sporty mode (read Gear #5), and a lot of head turns. Please admit it this is one sexy looking hatchback and the same design runs in italy, brazil, argentina or where ever (check Youtube if you don't believe me). Agreed the interior is very very plain but thats the fun guys, no clutters, everything within your reach. I have heard reviews about cheap plastics, i have a question for those guys which car has good quality plastics in the price range? You want wood finish and good quality carbon fiber grade plastic go buy a BMW or something. Punto is meant only and only for driver's comfort and nothing else.

For all those ppl who are inclined to buy this car i would advise them to get out somewhere alone and ask yourself if you want this car. You will know the answer then. I am a proud owner of this car (+1.5 year) and i am throughly loving it(read smile on my face driving it). The reason i am writing this review today is that my best friend got a new punto today and surprised me. Its then i realized that this car is only for ppl who go beyond the normal "chalta hai"!!!!

Sturdy build, ride quality, looks sexy, 1.4L engine, torquePlain interiors, Fuel economy (not that bad though)

Exterior Very Very good looking and I have purchased Tuscon Wine on 20th Jan 2011.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortably can seat 5 medium size adults.  Adequate Enough for an average Indian built 5 induviduals and with fairly large boot space of 280 litres.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Have driven only 640 kms, so far and the car feels great with both city and highway drive.  It will zoom in highway once the RPM touches 1900.  A clear power difference can be felt in comparision with swift VDI and I20 CRDI. However, in comparision to petrol driven cars it feels very heavy to start with. I am getting 16.5kms and the gear box is amazing and butter smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling Fantastic ride quality and feeling of well being sets in oneself, once the door is closed.  This could be on account of good and strong body of the vehicle. Without doubt, the handling at high speed is great than the benchmark Swift and one can feel difference in ride quality of European cars with that of Japnese makes.

Final Words Good and excellent car. Unfortunatly, the sales is not upto the expectation it deserves.  Probably due to poor dealership distribution net work and step motherly attitude adopted by TATA showroom staff.  Fiat corporate should watch very carefully or else they will be decimated as non existing.

Areas of improvement Since, I was having Swift zxi earlier, I am finding little difficulty while taking sharp and narrow turnings. I believe this can be improved once I get used to the length of the vehicle purticularly up front.

Good style and economy of fueldash board plastic quality should have been better.

Exterior Very very  good looking having sharp looks and with  strong metal body offering vibration free ride both in highway and city driving.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very very smooth diesel engine offering 90 hp raw power and without any noise or vibration. In comparision to petrol cars one can feel heaviness and lathargy of the vehicle at low RPM.  Once it touches 1900 RPm simply it leaps forward. Offers a decent fuel economy of 16.5 kms so far and the gear box is butter smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality and handling is superb in any type of roads and turnings. A remarkable difference in ride quality in comparision to Swift  ZXI which I was having earlier. The ride quality is better than Swift, I 20.

Final Words Good family car adequate for average built 5 adults.  A feeling of safe and secure is felt once the door locked and the car starts to move.

Areas of improvement The plastic quality of dash board could have been better.

I am writing this review after having a very bad experience with FIAT service centre. I left my FIAT GP Emotion 1.3 model for first service in Pondy manakular motors.

After service I went and checked the car. The rear left power window gives a sound while moving up and down. I asked the service incharge to check. He told the problem was already there and you didn't tell us and the problem was caused bcoz of people doing sun film work on the glass. I know that after doing sun film and till the day I left the car for service I don't have the issue. only after service I see this issue. The service incharge said he can't do anything about this and even I can't cliam this by warranty. I had to argue till 8 PM in the night and the service manager came to picture and said he will solve the problem for now.

After returning home I found that above boot and rear left side plastic panel has come out and was broken. I was shocked to find this. TATA motors folks don't know how to handle a FIAT car. I wrote lots of mails and complaints on this. No response on till now.

I would recommend untill and unless FIAT opens their showroom in India, ppl should keep away from this vehicle.

Except the engine and sturdiness of the body, nothing good with this car.

Good diesel enginePerformance below 1750 rpm and interior poor quality plastics
