I have a fiat linea emotion 1.3 MJ Diesel and since I have bought that it has kept me very emotional. Everytime I get happy some or the other problem appears and makes me emotional again. Perhaps this was the worst decision of my life to buy such a rubbish car which is not designed for Indian roads.
In past four years I have changed the clutch 3 times,shockers every year and the AC problem is persisting for past four years. I have made many complaints to Fiat but nothing has been done so far.Last year I paid around 40K for my car service and this year all the problems sorted out by them have re-appeared. I have other cars as well but none has given me any trouble compared to FIAT.
I would advise not to buy this vehicle as it would only cause problems. There are much better cars in the same segmengt and at the same price with much better performance,cost of ownership, resale price and which have been tested for Indian road like Verna,SX4 etc.
So overall I would say that in India "FIAT" stands for "FIX IT AGAIN TOMORROW" SO DONOT BUY ITS VEHICLES.

I just bought a Fiat Linea Active 1.3 diesel version last month and have driven around 2,500 kms so far. But in this short experience, the car has really impressed me and have overcome all the initial apprehensions, one may have while buying a Fiat product in India.
As we know that this is an italian product, the car can very well be termed as 'beautiful'.
Interiors are impressive. The only thing to disappoint is quality of the music system. The company could have charged few more thousands and quality of inbuilt speakers could have been improved significantly. The car has an excellent boot space.
On performance front, many things are going to impress you:
I would truly recommend this car to prospective buyers. One must try this car also before finalizing City or Verna.

It is with extreme disappointment that I am writing this mail to you as I purchased Fiat Linea Multijet Emotion from your SKY Moto Fiat Caffe which is located at Koregaon Park, Pune.
This Car has an issue with the alignment or what it is pulling towards the left side.
Inside the car Dead Pedal is very loose and wobbly, the roof is loose and uneven too.
Even after request for cleaning up the car, the car has mark on the roof and the left side rear door chrome on the door handle is rubbed off and same on the back side of the bumper.
During the PDi we did bring all these things to the notice of the Sales manager Mr. Kapoor and he assured us that everything will be taken care of. Specially alignment thing, but after 12 days when we went to pickup the car, after registration, we were told everything is fine, on trust of Fiat reputation and name, we signed the documents and took the car, but within 5 minutes of driving we found the alignment problem and called up the sales executive Mr. Prabhjot Singh and Sales Manager was missing on the Car delivery day.
Mr. Kapoor had promised us to give the car manufactured in April, but the car manufacturing date is February.
After paying hefty amount for a vehicle, nobody expects such sub standard product. We were disappointed that quality of this product is not being maintained and customer relationship is very poor.
But this was just the tip of an iceberg.
Next day ,I took my car to Sky moto service station thinking the wheel alignment will be done and I will come home happily. But I sat there for 8 hours along with my kids as the technical team kept doing R&D on my car. Still they could not fix it. I was told to visit again on monday to leave my car with them. ONE SMART FELLOW FILLED THE AIR PRESSURE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM 43 psi front left, 34 front right, 35 rear left and 33 rear right. We drove with this pressure on highway. This could have even led to an accident .
I left my new car at the service station and past 1 week the fiat team is working on it but the left side pulling remains the same.
I took test drive but I felt that I was driving a used car, because the R&D what they did and Hit and Trial which is still going on, my Car has been spoilt to the hilt; the Impact that the New Vehicle gives is surely missing.
I AM NOT READY TO TAKE BACK A CAR THAT HAS BEEN OPENED UP TO CHANGE LOWER ARM, WHEELS HAD UNEVEN TREAD WEAR AND GOD KNOWS HOW MANY OTHER INTERNAL PARTS ARE TWISTED. ON TOP OF THAT THE TECHNICAL GUY IS ASKING US TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL FIRMLY TO SOLVE THE PULLING PROBLEM!
Do you think I deserve the car that has been opened in the service centres and with issue still persisting is being given to me as brand new????
Is this the quality of Fiat?? I will not accept this car as it is surely a defective piece and will not listen to any stupid reason given by your personnels. I demand the replacement of car or my whole amount along with interest back.
From being a fan of fiat , I am left with no option but to hate this brand now for its unprofessional attitude. Many people are suffering in India due to lack of quality maintenance , this problem is like a land mine for fiat.
Please ensure swift action on this matter, hope this brand also doesn't become second 'Maggi'.
I hope Mr. Kevin Flynn looks into the matter of untrained guys in his technical team and quality maintenance at factory before the launch of Abarth.
Hope to have concrete steps taken to resolve this issue. I am fed up with communicating with different people who have no answers and are forever asking to bear with fiat. Why should I???

I like the exterior of the car. The car is beautiful and has a solid road presence. Its a beauty.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Good for the price and what is otherwise available among the entry-level sedans in India. Its so much better than what is offered by Etios. Ther seat structure, adjustment features, 2-tone styling, door furnishing, etc gives it a rich look.

Engine performance is fine. The gear movement has minor issues and has been raised by many on tis form as well.
THE FUEL EFFICIENCY SUCKS AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MORE THAN 8.5 KMPL FROM THIS CAR IN THE CITY..... MY FORD IKON USED TO GIVE ME 13 KMPL UNDER SAME CONDITIONS.... THIS CAR IS A DISASTER FROM FUEL ECONOMY PERSPECTIVE. May be this is ehy the car fetched a very low resale price in the market.
The servicing is expensive and frankly doesn't stop any of the recurring problems. Rs 30,000 per year is the minimum expense on this car's servicing, assuming no accidents and no part damages.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is good and the handling is good as well. I have tried this car at 130 km plus speed and must say that i felt more comfortable in a zen and a Ford Ikon at those speeds...but these are exceptional speeds. for anything under 100km speed, this is a good car with good control.
Final Words
If you are happy to pay Rs 8 per km as the fuel cost over next 2-3 years and also happy to take 50% plus hit on resale valus of the care over 2-3 years, you are the guy for this car. Given a choice now, I will not buy this car at full price. This is a good pre-owned car as the purchase cost is so low for a second-hand Fiat Linea.

Looking at reviews & features of Linea, Diesel, I was very much impressed with Car. I was planning to upgrade my car from Indica turbo to some good Diesel Sedan. I had seen Verna also & very much impressed with feature (Value for Money)
I also visited Fiat Showroom (Hind Motors, Mohali) & seen the car & was very much impressed with styling & features. BUT I was shocked to see the behaviour of Sales People. Even after staying for 10 minutes with Car, no person was ready to attend me (I Asst. Manager Level person with 2-3 sales person was available, probably busy in some gossips). After I insisting one Sales Person came, half heartedly. When I ask for Test Drive, they told me that right now Vehicle has gone either you can wait or we will call. I have left my mobile. Since last 3-4 days, I am waiting for call but no call has come
It seems TATA or TATA Dealer not intrested in selling Fiat Car, based on my experience I decided not to buy Linea. Even before selling they are having this attitude, what shall be the condition after buying the vehicle

Its only Gods blessing that I am alive writing this review. My Fiat Linea that I purchased from "Pandit Motors" had been driven only 24,000 Km when its engine failed while I was driving on Express Highway no 4. The car suddenly stopped responding when I was in fast lane. I was only lucky for not beeing hit by a sppeding vehicle following me. My car suddenly stopped responding without indicating any prior signals, on the middle of the road, I somehow steered the car to the road side. At that time in all 5 adults and 2 kids were in the said car. At that time there was not heavy traffic and therefore I could move the car to a safe location using manpower, and saved the life of other six persons. This was a nightmare for all those who were travelling. I kept on wondering what would have happened if the vehicle would have stopped this way when he would be overtaking and if a heavy vehicle would be approaching him from front. My family would have met an unfortunate untimely end for no reason. It would have destroyed two families instantly one that of his uncle and other that of me.
Thereafter I contacted Pandit Motors for inspection of the car and emergency repair service. After five hours, the mechanics arrived at the spot, however, to the my surprise the mechanics failed to identify the problem and towed away the car to the showroom at Tilak Road Pune on the very same day.
Since then and till date I contacted all of the concerned parties including Fiat maotors, Tata Motors and Pandit Automobiles by telephone and by email and for all the times he has asked you regarding cause of failure. However all of them had suppressed to disclose the exact cause of failure to my client. The works manager at Pandit Automobile had conveyed his inability to disclose the details saying that it’s confidential. The Area officer of Tata Motors had conveyed that he cannot put the reason on record and the Customer care officer of FIAL (Fiat India Automobile Limited) cooked up a reason after repeated requests from my client.
These incidents raise suspicion in my clients mind regarding the actual cause of failure in the car. Thereafter the reason for failure that was conveyed to me does not require such long time to be identified and repaired. I am sure that the cause of failure reported at the end by the FIAL officer is not the only problem in the car, and till date they are hiding the actual facts for the fear of market reputation.
Due to your negligence / manufacturing defect, I have suffered heavy business losses, mental agony, reputation which cannot be compensated in terms of money.

I went to have TD of Linea Petrol at Sterling Motors NOIDA on 14/02/2009. Thwe very well welcome me spend time with us. The Red and Grey car were on display and were looking fantastic.
Sales person demonstrate the car very well and we view that many young couples were comming to view the Linea and to have a TD of car. Most were for Diesel car but we went for Petrol car.
We taken a TD on Petrol Emotion car. The car looks big comfirtable. And as other have sugggested I did not find excelleration as bad other reviewere have said. It was good. We tested around 10 KM. I tries to rum slow and fast.
Noise : There was a noise in the cabin when I accelerate the car. Since my current car is Maruti 800, I do not know whether this is a genuine noise which comes in every car or it is in the Linea only. Can any one tell me what hppens when we race the car, does noise of engine/types comes in cabin? If this is so then it is OK other wise this is bad thing in Linea.
Otherwise Linea is beauty and I am 90% going to buy this car with Emotion Pack model.

Areas of improvement Lot needs to improve in terms of quality parts, safety feature. it was a shocking to see engine coming down, dealears say the lower pannel is crakced, but there was no accident, infact the supporting nut bolt got cracked.how can this happen??? I think this is very serious matter and some one has to take responsibility. No proper response regarding the cars condition since last 03 days.
Car got services 15 days before this episode took place, also the dealer told me that linea has recalled there AC and they are fitting a new one for selected custormes. any ways thats ok.but i m afraid to drive this car any further even though they get it repaired. what is the safety of my family when they sit in it.

Exterior It is okay.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This car has lots of features,headroom for tall persons in the rear seats may be a problem.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine sometimes sluggish.Fuel economy is decent.Gearbox is sometimes hard.sometimes very hard to put into 3rd gear.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is one of the things i like.you can throw it around corners confidently.very fun to drive on highways.
Final Words My car was in the service center for two months for replacing the engine.My engine had lots of complaints. Two liters of Oil in the engine would finish up in 200kms. Glow plugs would malfunction. It took them a month to replace the glow plugs. No spare parts available when needed.Once my cars clutch didnt come up, it was stuck and I was parked in the middle of the road. Just imagine if it was my brake. I pushed the car onto the side with some help.
