What is it?
The Zaap Bluetooth 4.1 Car Kit is a device that connects to your car's music system for enabling hands-free calling and providing full music control. This award-winning kit from America is now available in India. One can buy it online through Zaap's official website or many other easily accessible online stores. We have this car kit for an in-depth review, so let's get to the nitty-gritty of it.
What's in the box?
Like we've seen in our earlier review of the Zaap Bluetooth Receiver and other products, this brand's packaging is neat and the product is meticulously bundled in the box here as well. There's this Bluetooth 4.1 Car Kit in one single piece with a built-in 3.5mm aux cable and a USB cable. Then, there's a magnetic mounting black coloured plastic disc, a thank you card and a warranty card. What one additionally gets is Zaap's friendly customer service and support through phone and mail. It continues to be offered with this product too.
How to install it?
Installing this device is as easy as shelling peas. It requires just a plugging-in job to be done. Just connect the USB and aux cables and find an appropriate place on the dashboard where you can stick the plastic black disc with the help of its 3M tape. The main unit will hold on to this disc due to its magnetic properties.
Once plugged in, the unit will flash a blue and red light, which is when you can search for this Bluetooth device on the phone and pair it. In fact, your family members or friends with whom you often travel can also connect to it, as it supports multiple device pairing as well.
How does it work?
It must by now be clear that with easy multi-pairing Android and iOS smartphones, this Zaap Bluetooth 4.1 Car Kit has wide compatibility. It's hassle-free and we routed all the audio from the smartphone to the car’s music system easily. Once connected, we could answer phone calls with a simple tap of the button and even stream music and listen to navigation instructions on the car speakers. The kit has an in-built microphone and also buttons on it to change music tracks.
However, it doesn't get a volume control button and that needs to be adjusted through your phone or the car's music system. Interestingly, it also brings on the google assistant on android devices and activates Siri on Apple devices with a long press of the centre button. So you can work around with voice-commands too. However, it should be noted that this kit doesn't get an internal battery so in cars without a USB port, one will have to buy a 12V socket charger.
How much does it cost?
Do not go by the MRP of Rs 3,500 mentioned on the carton. It is available online for Rs 1,999 and will be a good buy if you often take a lot of calls while driving. Audio clarity is good and it also helps in streaming music without any interruptions. In fact, one can also use it at home by connecting it to your music system for added versatility.
