Car Care during Holi
It’s that time of the year when splashing colours and water is a legitimate way of having fun. Holi definitely brings out the best colours in us. But it’s also a time where your car risks getting a lot of colour stains. While dry colours and water isn’t really an issue, it’s the chemical based colours that can not only be a pain to scrub off but can also end up damaging the paint. So here’s a few basic things that you can do to protect your beloved set of wheels.
• Make sure that the car is covered properly. Investing in a good quality parking cover is good idea.
• Applying a coat of wax will ensure that the colour stains can be scrubbed off easily. It need not be a detailed professional wax job, but just making sure that the entire car gets a coat of wax is enough.
• In case you do not have the wax yourself, getting the car Teflon coated at an authorized dealership or any of the car detailing centers is a wise investment.
• In case you do manage to get some colour on the car, make sure you use car shampoo and not and detergents to clean it off. A strong detergent could damage the car’s paint.
• While it’s definitely not advised, but if you are planning to sit in the car at your colourful best, make sure that the fabrics materials are covered in plastic. Areas like the seats and armrest in particular.
• Avoid taking the car out on this day. Hiring a cab or a rick might end up saving a lot of cleaning time and money.
