Top Five Spooky Vehicles
The Car
A stealthy matte black 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III is terrorising a small town. Called The Car, this luxury coupe gets on a killing spree. There is no driver inside, no door handles and its intentions are unclear. Who knows what it wants. There’s nowhere to turn, nowhere to hide and no way to stop The Car. What evil force drives the Car? The Car is possessed and would not enter the hallowed ground of the cemetery. The evil returns to the world in the form of four wheels. To put an end to The Car, the town burns it to ashes. A monstrous demonic visage appears in the smoke and fire from the remains of The Car.
Christine
In a newly assembled 1957 Plymouth Fury, a man was found dead. It was then left to rust for 20 years in a junkyard, after which a teenage boy buys it as his first pride and joy and names it Christine. In a dire need of restoration, the boy becomes obsessed with Christine. The very thing that happened to the previous owner. When a few local bullies thrash her as a revenge on the teenage boy, Christine repairs herself, heads out and kills everyone who damaged her. It consumes the boy completely and kills him in the same manner the first owner was killed. Even when damaged beyond repair, Christine mocks at the world with its grille and starts to fix itself.
Duel
Imagine driving down a deserted highway and becoming prey to a massive, rusty and maniacal 1955 Peterbilt 281 tanker truck. The runaway truck’s sole intention is to end your life at every possible occasion. This truck’s colossal grille fills up your rearview mirror even as it bears down upon you in the most alarming manner. The driver wants to play a game of cat-and-mouse with you. It tries to run you off the road, onto the tracks and right onto the path of an incoming cargo train. And if you get down to seek help, it will run over you. What will you do to survive?
Chevy COE
When driving home from their spring break, a brother and sister were nearly run over by a rusty old truck. It is a Chevy COE hauler with a massive broken grille. It passes them once, and later they see the same truck parked next to an abandoned church. A man is picking out what appears to be human bodies wrapped in bloodstained sheets from a large pipe sticking out of the ground. This man is the Creeper, and he notices them passing by and gets in the truck once again. He takes the roads, follows them, and tries to run their car down in an attempt to kill them. The Truck is what the Creeper uses to store the bodies which he later devours to gain strength.
Ecto-1
The Ecto-1 was the Ghostbusters’ choice of ride busting the ghosts and other entities in New York City. The Ectomobile was a beautiful 1959 Cadillac professional chassis, built by the Miller-Meteor company with an ambulance conversion. The Ghostbuster’s steed had provision tanks to store the ghosts they captured. It was also said to have supernatural powers, including inter-dimensional travel and the ability to dematerialize. Can a work vehicle get any cooler than that?
