I baught ReadyGo AMT S , the topmost model in March 18. Car failed several times in first month. Was towed to workshop three times. Roadside assistance is horrible. Finally it has been dianosed as Cluch actuator failure. Car is in Garage for last full month. They say that the part would come from JAPAN!
Whats the point in buying new car which fails with horrible engine vibration giving you engine failure caution and stops midway on the road. Very dengarous situation which can land you in accident on highway. I have lost confidence in the vehicle and would be tensed all the time driving it in future. Thats when I get the car back.
If you are thinking of buying Datsun AMT, I would suggest you should wait till they fix the car properly. Looks like they launched the car without proper testing and looking to get the bugs from failures. I wish I had baught Kwid instead.
Still awaiting the car to come. Hopefully, it would have no problems. Fingers crossed!
Comfortable ride... If it works!Car failed in first month. In garage for 1 full month.Exterior/Styles

Exterior Sporty.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Seats are good, Spacious rear seat (Can accomodate 3 persons comfortably).
Interior is upto the mark Good stearing position, Wide view. New music system is good with USB and Aux. Mobile charging etc. So many space for keeping small items. Nice AC. Cooling is good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is smooth. No vibration inside the cabin. New AMT gear system. Both manual & Automatic is available. Can be shifted to manual mode at any point, during driving in Auto mode also. Gear shift is smooth both in manual & auto mode.
Give you signal on dash board to shift to higher gear in manual model and whenever the car slows down the gear shifts to lower gear automatically in manual mode also. That too much to except from DATSUN. Fuel economy: Totally depends how you drive.
Ride Quality & Handling Good suspension (185mm ground clearance). Stearing control is good.
Final Words Improved AMT in terms of technology and fits in the budget also. I like it to be my 1st AMT car.
Areas of improvement Although the current is quite good as higher models llike T(O) and S, interior can be made dual tone with painted outside mirror. Its feeing can be improved.

First Drive Report: Datsun Redi Go 1.0 T (O) by Shibu Chakraborty.
Datsun’s third offering in India was pitched as an urban crossover called redi Go. We also voted it as our choice for the second car that we will be using in addition to the tried and tested master – Alto 800.
After taking delivery of our Redi Go in ruby red colour (christened as ‘Red Ridinghood’ by our daughter Yukti), me and my wife started our journey back home from the Ritu Nissan Datsun showroom located near Hiranandani Estate, Thane. We had decided to take the route via Mulund Airoli link road that would then pass via the Thane Belapur road, then Mahape Shil Road and finally Kalyan Shil Road to reach Palava city where we reside. Though this route has two tolls, it was our preferred route as the drive is through highway and several flyovers with road conditions being pretty good.
As we sojourned our drive, the first task was to fill some petrol since we were to drive for about 35 km through the above route. Datsun Redi Go houses a 28L petrol tank on the right hand side. The first few minutes while driving the car made me a bit nervous since I have been used to only driving our Alto800 since the last four years. After the Redi Go test drive about three weeks ago, this was my first major drive across the city roads. This variant houses the 1.0L iSAT engine and though it is much more refined as reviewed by experts when compared to the 800cc model, there has been a lot of discussion on the engine’s capabilities at relatively lower rpm levels.
My focus too remained on similar lines as I was constantly trying to hear the engine and read its response when starting from idle, creeping the Redi Go at bumper to bumper traffic and while on the climb. The refinement level is relatively good though but it does shudder a bit and even the co-passenger on the front seat can see the dashboard vibrating at the start unless we apply a little throttle and hear the peculiar sneezing noise of the engine at the start. Once it starts cruising, the ride quality and feedback is really a pleasure from an entry level A segment car. I too felt that it is best to drive the car at a little less than 2000 rpm. Around the corners and turns, a bit of body roll due to its tall boy structure is also experienced but still not enough to scare and maintain a decent speed.
Reversing the car is also an unique experience since it needs a lever below the gear knob to be pulled up whilst slotting it at extreme left top past the first gear. When the gear knob is returned to neutral, the lever automatically comes down and while it is in this position, we move to the standard first gear.
Few issues related to ergonomics are worth mentioning. Due to the high stance driving, the driver has to reach down while using the parking brake. Same happens when trying to close or open the glass through the power window buttons which are located too far ahead. The left and right turn indicator arrows are not very clearly visible when driving under bright sun light.
Leaving these issues aside, the bright spots include better cabin space, head space and decent features like central locking, child safety lock door and relatively sound suspension. The clutch is really very light and engages early, while the acceleration is extremely responsive to light throttle push. A tight turning radius also is a boon during U turns.
The overall experience of driving the RediGo for the first time at length was at the end enjoyable. As I spend more time with it, the handling and manoeuvrability is bound to improve.

I love this car. Manouvers in city traffic so well. AMT with manual option is perfect of indian road conditions especially manouvering through pot holes and flyovers. Good mileage and lot of space. Only thing they culd have done was to improve inmteriors further!
You sit high on this car and hence the road visibility is great. The ground clearance also seem to be good as I dont slow down much on the high speed breakers in Gurgaon and also manages the pot holes well. I usually shift to manual gear while climbing the flyovers and it gives me that extra push. The boot space is sufficient to carry 2 medium suitcases.
The flipside is the build doesnt seem to be great and interior quality could have improved than what it is. Even the space for music system could be bigger as I am a big music fan and would like to have a bigger screen for navigation and my music.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good practical AMT drive; Manual mode is an added advantage; Fuel economy is good returnign between 17 - 18 KMPL consistently in the city drive condition.
Ride Quality & Handling High seating posture and tall boy desgn gives excellent road visibility adds to good handling and ride quality.
Final Words Good value package overall; Beautiful looking car; Convenient AMT drive in traffic hustle; Underrated product overall - definitely far better product then the Allto or the Kwid.
Areas of improvement Power window switches should be on the doors. Provision for including a two din music system would be a welcome addition.
