Datsun not so plus

Drove a short distance of my friends car who claims mileage is 10-12kmpl in city with ac on which goes up to 15kmpl on highway with a light foot, feels okay relatively stable on highway. The biggest issue with this car is to give proper rear seating for 3. The current setup of 5+2 is useless . There is no utility of the current seat setup wherein the last two rows appear to complicate the matters , in addition to the air-conditioning woes being experienced by the last two seat passengers. A better idea would be to make it a 5 seater or at least give a proper 5 seater option by reclining the rear seats back.
