Volkswagen Virtus vs Honda Amaze [2013-2016]

It has been quite a while since the maroon Honda Amaze first entered the CarWale parking lot. All of us were initially confused over Ninad’s insistence of getting an automatic car in our long term fleet with our team of petrolheads wanting the peppy little car with a manual stick. After a while however, it all started to make sense. While all other members of our team are well-versed in the art of driving, Fleme and I are what you can call, new kids on the block. With both us fresh out of driving schools, the boss thought that it would be better to start us off in an automatic car.

The Honda Amaze has now been in our fleet for over two months and in that time, we have used it to climb the Ghats in and around Mumbai, inched it along through peak evening traffic on the Western Express Highway and finally used it as a shoot car on multiple occasions. Each of these experiences has left us with a bit more respect for the Amaze and more importantly wanting to put more kilometers on the odometer whatever be the road conditions.

It has been exactly a month since the Honda Amaze joined our long term fleet here at CarWale. The arrival of this compact sedan has ticked off two checkboxes for our young team-petrol power and automatic transmission.
