Toyota Camry vs Volvo S60

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a premium executive sedan priced at Rs 41.7 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, it goes up against the Skoda Superb, and even ventures into the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and Mercedes A-Class territory. Yes, this Toyota doesn’t have the same snob value, but remains one of the unique long three-box sedans with its own USPs, like hybrid power, focus on rear-seat comfort, etc. — all of which we will get to in a bit. Camry is Toyota’s only sedan in India and now gets cosmetic updates and new features in its eighth-gen avatar.

The bookings for the new-gen Volvo S60 sedan will begin in the new year followed by its impending launch in our country. This next-gen model builds on the strengths of the second-generation of the S60 that was discontinued in India last year. We've already told you about our first impressions of the car through its first drive review, and here we shall tell you five positives and two negatives of the sedan in its latest avatar.

This new-generation Volvo S60 has come in after a long gap with the discontinuation of its second-gen. The carmaker has sort of made up for this delay, as this next-gen sedan gets a major overhaul in its latest avatar. It might not be an attention magnet, but it’s a big step up from its older design. Yet, it’s very much in line with other Volvo models and gets a spacious cabin for four that’s packed with so much of new tech. And, with a sorted ride and suspension for our road conditions, it’s quite hassle-free as well. Also, it would have been good to have a diesel option for great mile-munching capabilities. Still, this petrol engine-gearbox is adequate enough for the most part. We still think Volvo might surprise us with a wider selection of engines upon its launch in March 2021.
