Toyota Camry vs Honda Civic

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a premium executive sedan priced at Rs 41.7 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, it goes up against the Skoda Superb, and even ventures into the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and Mercedes A-Class territory. Yes, this Toyota doesn’t have the same snob value, but remains one of the unique long three-box sedans with its own USPs, like hybrid power, focus on rear-seat comfort, etc. — all of which we will get to in a bit. Camry is Toyota’s only sedan in India and now gets cosmetic updates and new features in its eighth-gen avatar.

In its 10th generation, the Civic is undoubtedly larger and sportier-looking than the earlier one.

The Honda Civic brand has a great following worldwide and found many admirers in India as well. This is despite the carmaker selling only one generation (eighth) of this sedan in India between 2006 and 2012. Now, Honda has breathed new life into the Civic after more than six years and revived it in a sporty yet elegant avatar. This tenth-gen iteration is now offered in a choice of 1.8-litre petrol-CVT trim and a 1.6-litre diesel manual version. The latter is what many Indians wanted and is now what they get.
