Ride the Tiger- the Tigor

My showroom experience was superb. The dealer even helped me get my BH number plate within 2 days. About the car, the experience is indescribable. On highways the fuel economy even reached 27 km/l. The build quality of TATA is incomparable. On road, Tigor gives superb driving confidence. Overall super happy with Tata and Tigor.

Figo - The beast in camouflage

Ford showroom and service centres are very good and they try to make you feel special all the way. The car is a pleasurable piece of engineering. Right from the pickup, cruise experience to small attention to detail like steering wheel controls and passenger comfort, once you ride a Figo you will not want to drive anything else. The only con that I felt is that sometime you will have to wait for parts for a long time.

Since Vikrant was going to get busy for a week, I decided to borrow his Figo for a bit. Compact dimensions, a dual clutch automatic transmission and a brilliant 1.5 litre petrol motor to boot, I was a happy man indeed. The Figo was used mainly for commuting which is like almost 80km daily and involves highways and city confines. I managed to log almost a 1000km in the two weeks that I had the car. Here two good and two bad things that I observed.

Lets start with something the Figo AT is comfortable handling – the regular and predictable four-lanned national highways. On straight and mildly undulating roads with some long sweeping corners at under 100kmph – which is your typical highway scenario – the Figo feels confident, planted and relaxed. It's reasonable quiet too, and the engine's response, though slightly lazy, won't make you pull your hair out. On roads like these, one can comfortably travel for hours on end in the Figo.
