Most Helpful Review | Very good in all budget segment cars Best car for medium class .Value for money car. Best driving experience. Very good look & good performance wise. Servicing experience is good & low maintenance cost. Con fit finish. | Good Commuter Car
I bought the I-20 Era (Petrol) in Hyderabad nearly 5 months back. Have driven around 2000 km+. I use it for commuting to office and family car (run errands for the house, visiting nearby places etc). My observations below-

- Very spacious car-ideal family hatch. I have test driven Swift (truly a segment below I-20) and Polo, the amount of space in I-20 beats all of them hands down. With the front seat fully pushed out, a 5-10 individual can seat comfortably behind.

- Excellent road manners- Goes well over potholes, swallows small road im-perfections and speedbreakers well. However, the Ground clearance, although enough could have been better.

- Powerful AC: Beats Hyderabad summer heat comfortably.

- Boot space-Packs in 2 large suitcases easily. Large meaning 32 inch suitcases

- Quality of Interiors: Fantastic. beats the competition hollow. However, the Polo has better built interiors.

- Comfortable driving position

-Mileage: I get 11 Kmpl (in city) with AC and 16 kmpl (on highway) with AC. Lately (Oct/Nov), without AC, i am getting 12 kmpl mileage for in-city driving. Please note mileage will depend on how aggresively you drive and the load in the car (driving single or with family), petrol used (I use Shell) etc.

Now for the cons

- Lack of power: In the first and second gear, outright power is missing, so less straightline acceleration. Pick-up has improved after first service, but i still feel that outright Pick-up is less at below 1000 rpm.

- Suspension: Make no mistake, the power steering is great. It is just that there is no feel, you can turn the steering with a finger. I have to be very careful in highways at speeds greater than 80kms.

- Suspension: Makes a sound over a road reflector which percolates to cabin. However, does not feel so noisy over bad roads/potholes. So, I am not sure over this con.

Also, this is a segment over Swift, I say this considering space, car experience and ride quality. Its true competition is Polo & Punto.

All in all, would I buy this car again? Yes, if i am looking for a family car. For a driver's car-No. But then these are family cars. So highly recommended.
Space, Comfort, Styling, Boot space, Quality of interiorsLow end acceleration, suspension damping, no-feel steering |
