Figo - The beast in camouflage

Ford showroom and service centres are very good and they try to make you feel special all the way. The car is a pleasurable piece of engineering. Right from the pickup, cruise experience to small attention to detail like steering wheel controls and passenger comfort, once you ride a Figo you will not want to drive anything else. The only con that I felt is that sometime you will have to wait for parts for a long time.

The Tata Punch is currently one of the best-selling models from the carmaker's portfolio. We believe a CNG-powered version would make its case stronger and guess what? It is coming soon. It will share its engine option with the Altroz. Likewise, it will be made available with a similar twin-cylinder kit in the boot. Our first impressions of the premium hatchback are out here, and we shall now delve into the details of the new Punch i-CNG. Before we begin, let us bring to your notice that the one displayed at the 2023 Auto Expo looked identical to the standard Punch. The only difference between the two in terms of looks was the ‘i-CNG’ badge on the boot.

Since Vikrant was going to get busy for a week, I decided to borrow his Figo for a bit. Compact dimensions, a dual clutch automatic transmission and a brilliant 1.5 litre petrol motor to boot, I was a happy man indeed. The Figo was used mainly for commuting which is like almost 80km daily and involves highways and city confines. I managed to log almost a 1000km in the two weeks that I had the car.
