MG ZS EV vs BMW X1 [2010-2012]

Our long-term MG ZS has been put through its paces within the city for almost three months. I've been wanting to drive it out of the city limits but still not wanting to waste time charging it at an unknown place. After enough thought and a little planning into it, I set out to utilise its driving range to the maximum.

December 2010 was a great month for BMW as it unveiled a product that was its cheapest yet, the X1. But, the trust in BMW ensured buyers did not look down upon it; instead they jumped at it. The result was massive bookings and a long wait of several months to drive one out of the showrooms. Sceptics however, say it’s common for any new car to witness such response; first few months are after all called the honeymoon period for a new car for a reason. The question then is, is the X1 as good as one expects a BMW to be? Is it fun to drive? And do its booming sales, actually make it worth owning? To find out, we drove the baby BMW, the X1.

It's been a month of driving this MG ZS EV. The best thing is I got to terms with it within the first week of driving it. The biggest myth that got busted is 'Electrics are boring'. So we'll get to how interesting it is and if and how similar it is to conventional ICE vehicles. This month involved a lot of driving within the city and here's how the ZS fared.
