Amazing value for money at 8 lacs & I bought it for two reasons: I was convinced by Tata’s commitment to their resurgence & also Jayem technology who are behind the JTP. I got all I expected & more, I cut one star for refinement which could have happened with little effort. Engine noise & vibration is so much that my colleague asked me if it’s a diesel car. Drive, handling & suspension are amazing. Any youngster looking for a pocket rocket, the JTP is your car at 30% less than a GT TSI or Baleno RS

The cars you see on these pages might be small hatchbacks and at first glance look quite similar, however, underneath they are very different. In the left corner we have the Tata Tiago JTP which is the go-faster version of the standard car, while in the right corner we have the standard Maruti Swift petrol. The Tata Tiago JTP with more power and stiffer suspension as compared to the Swift definitely has an upper hand. However, the Swift is no slouch, as even in the standard trim it is quite a weapon. It is also the lighter of the two which should help at the tight and technical corners of the MMRT. So which car will come out on top? The more powerful JTP or the underdog Swift? Hyundai has launched its smallest and most compact SUV in India. It’s called the Exter and this one slots below the Venue and is based on the brand’s entry-level hatchback, the Grand i10 Nios. The Exter is a petrol-only SUV with a CNG variant, is offered in seven variants and is a direct rival to the Tata Punch. Let’s take a closer look at it.
