      Exterior very good and apealing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) lots of space is there at rear seat it is very much comfortable than verito and indigo.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I reall felt the torque in this vehicle excellent fuel economy @  120 km/hr, I was shocked there is no noise in engine and cabin and while overtaking it support fully on highways without answering sorry.

Ride Quality & Handlingits Again awsome road grip and steering control ,i never felt it into a entry level sedan.

Final Words I felt that this is a complete deisel Sedan which made me happy ,actually i was driving a indigo cs and when i taken test drive i decided to buy this and on sunday i purchase this amazing vehicle and i drove it approx 400 km without any hazzle.

Areas of improvement Front Fog lamps in LS ABS version should be given by the Chevrolet,it lacs into vehicle.

Excellent fuel economy, driving comfort, awesome steering controlDriver side window control not present ,rear gear shift indicator

Exterior When you first look at the Chevrolet Sail Sedan you get the feel of looking at a mini Cruz, with bold lines flowing through out the body and seamless matching of the boot, this car is here to stay and will be "Neighbours Envy Owners Pride". The Headlamps and Tail Lamps are are beautifully crafted and overall you have a car which is a Sedan and not an improvization.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) First Up the AC is superb, seats are wonderfully Comfortable, fresh feel in the interiors, Superb space for getting in and out, excellent fit and finish, good comforable and airy cabin, boot space and good and the space is well done with covers all across and not esposed metal. Comfortable placing of power window buttons, lots of space to store things, even space below the rear seats (This is spectaculor). The cabin is absolutely noiseless (even with the diesel power inside).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very powerfull, its rev happy and it will pump the speed when you ask it to. no wait time. The best part is the gears don't stall, you can rev upto 80 KMPH without getting the feel that the car is gasping for air. You can overtake easily and gear shits are great and smooth. Cant say much about Fuel Economy as the car is yet to go for first service.

Ride Quality & Handling The Sail rides as if its riding on clouds, the suspension and the shockers are great and car doesnot feel nervous at high speeds, it stays steady and feels very reliable while driving at high speeds. Indian roads...no problem...I drive a Sunny but I must say that the Sail is way more comfortable and easier to handle that Sunny. The entire suspension gives you a very soft and comfortable feel. The steering is light and it help you manuvour inside the city like a dream and when you pickup speed the steering gets the right speed and it help you keep the control of the car properly.

Final Words Overall its an excellent car, good value for money and looks awesome. Its not a Dezire or the Honda Amaze which feels like a boot is hanging out of a Hatch. The design is sensable, car is practical and powerfull and will please people who want a car, not something that looks like one, also I must say Aravalli Motors in Gurgaon have made the entire buying experience great. I am very satisfied with the car and would recommend people plannning to buy a car should have a look at it.

Areas of improvement Very difficult to say, but nothing is 100% perfect in this world. Power Window switch should have lights so as to make them easy to find them in the dark, Temperature Gauge is required, would be good if Chevy includes a Driver Information System going forward, the quality of switch plastic should be improves, the Headlamp and Wiper swtiches feel very plasticky and doesnot have a premium feel to them.

      Exterior

This car though above 4 meters in length and impressive pricing can be compared with Amaze, Swift Dezire or Toyota Etios. Sail has better exterior looks and styling compared to competition if feel - however this is subjecive to personal preference. I have nothing more to comment on exterior other than it does not sport a chopped off look compared to competition.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Interior Colors and design -> Though some may say the interior is bit too dull and does not lift the mood, I got used to it after 4 months and now feel that its not that bad as it camaflauges the dust settling on the dash board and still looks clean. With better seat covers and floor mats, one can slightly uplift the looks.

Space and comfort -> It has good space and can seat 5 medium sized adults in comfort and is very comfortable for me who is 6 foot 3 inches to drive and can still seat 4 adults like me in comfort with a small sized adult or a kid in the rear seat.

Storage space under the rear seats and bottle holders on the two front doors and ample cup holders with a arm rest with cup holders available in the car. Gives a complete sedan feeling.

Not to forget the boot of 370 liters which can swallow quiet some luggage.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Now this is where the problem starts. This 1.3 diesel engine is said to be codeveloped by Chevrolet-Fiat and is the same engine that does duty in Swift Diesel, Tata Indica Vista, Punto but now all know that all the companies have tweaked it differenty and that is where the problem is. Whatever refinement that chevrolet has brought in this engine has two sides. The mileage is average. City bumper to bunper traffic I have not got over 11-12 Kmpl and on highways if you do not change gears too frequently and drive constantly at 90-110 then you can see a mileage of 19 kmpl (This was between Bangalore and Hyderabad).

With the car loaded with 5 adults where 3 of us were 99-100 Kgs and 2 others around 60-70 Kgs with sufficient luggage in boot with full tank of diesel and between Bangalore and Madikeri (coorg) highwat, got a mileage not more than 12 Kmpl (this was when the car had run just 200 Kms - within the 2nd week of purchase).

So in short mileage is much lower than claimed and differs as per your driving conditions.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride is excellent, feels like sailing on smooth roads - good NVH levels and very little noise from outside can be heard. When driving on highways at 100 - 120 there will be some road noise that leaks into the cabin. Getting a 3M rubberised undercarriage protection can reduse this noise.

Suspension is really great and absorbs all the average potholes with ease and keeps you comfortable.

Handling is good - in city driving conditions there is good feedback from the steering and the gear ratios are nicely aligned. You do not need to shift gears too much and is comfortable to drive around in city traffic and feels lignt on its feet. Cross 120 Kms on the highway and you will loose all your confidence as the steering feels dead and scary, slight movement of the weel will upset the driving. Ideal and comfortable driving is bwtween 0 to 120 Kms speed.

      Final Words

This car is new in India and still needs to improve on its made in china image and settle down. New buyers can get easily tempted to buy this but hold on - give it a good thought as there are many who have faced problems. Give it some time in the market and most of the problems from the first batch gets resolved, I am sure GM will work hard to make this little more problem free and give a better competition.

      Areas of improvement

This car has very cheap windshields - absorbs no heat and with the useless rule of no tints on windows - your car easily turns into a oven and AC feels useless and this leads to more fuel consumption and lower the meleage.

After a 4 hour long drive with A.C on in full and later had parked in under the hot sun. The same night the weather dropped (hill station effect) and also rained that night - the result morning found the windshield cracked.

GM inspected and gave a free replacement. So happy and thumbs up to GM for quick response. This proves that they care.

But still I hope they put better glass that absorbs some heat - something like what Amaze is coming with may be better.

GM needs to work much harder on the mileage.

The most annoying problems i faced: The plastic trim under the front windshield - it always keeps creating creaking noises. Have the entire trip replaced with windshield and 2 months later can still hear it creaking. Am due for 2nd free service and am going to fight to get it fixed for good.

Afer a deep reserch and by uprising against my wife and father(as they forced me to purchase Maruti dezire) I finally decide to purchase Sail LS ABS

Exterior Exterior really amazing bonut curves, front lamp, body cuts giving it a queen look. whenever a passerby turns his head towards me and keep gazing on the car, really it seem like all the money i spent is refund

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is exellent dashbord is made of good plastic, cupolders in the doors are giving more confort, seat foam is of a grade quality which provides more comfort, fuel tank in the middle provides more thigh sport when sitting on rear seat and it provides more empty space beneth the rear seat, JVC stereo is giving a live music.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Surprisingly its shoots up even when you are running in 4th gear with AC running , and when you are on speed more than 60 kmh its top gear gives u a feeling like a racing caar.

Ride Quality & Handling Easy ride with ABS and EBD, company has fitted in this model

Final Words Its a good car in this price tag.

Areas of improvement Door handles must be crome plated, 2 din system.

I bought diesel LS ABS version white colour and it is a value for money car.

Exterior Looks great from front more of Chevy Cruize look, side curve looks good especially in the darker colours. I bought white colour, its bright white and it gives royal look. Fog lamps are missing in this version.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Placing the window controls near the gear box is a good option, not always the driver needs to control it. 1 more bottle holder, back of the hand brake is helpful. Interior plastic is of high-medium quality, definitely does not look cheap. 1 more light would have been better for the back seat.

Space - leg/head space is good, but the seat width less when compared to my previous car Vista

Leg space especially for the front seat is good due to nice dashboard design, even a 6 feet tall person can fit in the legs easily due to the angle of the daskboard.

I loved the bluetooth connectivity with cd player and my phone. it can store the addr book of few numbers and the mic quality is good. others can hear it clear even when am driving around 100kmph, which is not the case in many other cars i drove.

Speakers i guess are 60 watts. If you wanna listen loud music u may have to looks for other speakers/tweeters or a woofer, but its not bad.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am done about 3500 kms till now.

Fuel economy - city - 12.6 kmpl is the max i got with ac; on highway with 80 speed with ac - 16.6kmpl is the max mileage i got till now. This did not meet my expectation with arai mileage given as 22kmpl. I was expecting atleast 16-17 kmpl in city on road.

Gearbox is smooth, steering is a absolute fantastic, felt even better than honda city, nice road grip and brakes with the ebd & abs.

It is best driven around 80-100 kmph speed, over that it becomes noisy and pickup is slow after 100, with full load in car. Max speed I touched is 160kmph (just me driving).

Ride Quality & Handling This is a bit sluggish in 2nd gear.. unlike other diesel cars, when the vehicle is in slow movement say near signal, you need to put it in 1st gear, otherwise it wud stop in 2nd gear. Steering is the highlight.. felt really easy like a small car in traffic.

Final Words Looks and the features are value for money.

Areas of improvement Mileage, sluggish 2nd gear.

Price, Good looks, interiors better than many other cars, window controls at the centerMileage is low

I've a 2 month old LS ABS  Diesel model. I've faced similar problems and have visited the service center 11 times till now. I'm quite happy with other aspects of the car, but these irritating sounds take away the pleasure of driving a brand new car. I've faced following problems -

      1. rattling sounds from windows - This problem persists even after 10 attempts by service center guys. The most successful attempt lasted 3 days after which problem has come back. The service center guys have tried adding some kind of 'padding' to reduce the noise but it has not worked.

      2. dashboard noise - This was fixed after 2-3 attempts but has resurfaced again. But again started GM area manager idoit not even responding mails.

      3. steering noise - The steering used to vibrate very badly on rough roads. Got this replaced , even though started same problem agian.

These small but annoying problems have definitely affected my confidence level about build quality of this product. I'm following up with GM and the service center to get these issues resolved.

My hample request yo every one pl dont buy this car and dont lost your mind.

Pl feel reach me +91 789XXXXXX.

I aleady return my car show room sales guys for money refund and moving to consumer court .

      Overall

It was initially a difficult task when I decided to upgrade my 8 years old Alto to a entry level sedan. There is tough competition in this segment and obviously a deficult taks to pick the best one in line to our choice (since we neglect others whil choosing one). My prime chioses where Dzire, Amaze, Etios, Classic and Veritto. I went all the showrooms of these cars and done the test drive. Finally I ended up by giving my cheque to Chevvy to buy Sail 1.3 LS ABS. I have driven 2000 kms so far and feels happy for the buy.

Based on my test drive experience I can list up some key points which made me to move towards Chevvy's Sail.

Sail beats Dzire in the following aspects: a complete sedan, boot space, suspension, interior space, riding comfort, excellent braking system and awesome exterior design and looks.

Sail beats Classic in the following aspects: riding comfort, suspension andsteering response while in city drive and uneven roads with full ac on.

Veritto is really a good car, but I didn't choose it because of very outdated interior and once you entered inside you will feel like you are in Jeep not an luxuriouis car that you tended to spend your money for. While starting it jumps like jeep.

Etios, I didn't fall to this car because, I was not much impressed by its interior and also the quality of the material in addition to a lot of negative critics I heared from the users.

      Exterior

Excellent. You will fall in love at the first sight.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       Features : Good

      Space and Comfort: Excellent

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Since Chevvy uses Fiat 1.3 L Turbojet Engine, the Engine Performance is not commentable here. The performance is pretty good with decent mileage aroung 21-22 km/l in Highways and 18-20 km/l in city drive.

The most lovable thing in this car over Amazr is you can't feel any vibrations even when you ignit the Engine and also the noise is well insulated in to the cabin. I feel suspension of the Sail is best among its rivals. It doesn't care the small path holes in the road and offers extermely better riding experience for both city and highways.

The power steering is pretty responsive and excellent for city drive.

      Ride Quality & Handling

       Extermely good.

      Final Words

Definitely a good car and value for money. Go with your own chioce not others as you are paying your hard earned money to enjoy yourself. All the cars are good and well fitted and also released after several testings and trials so no car is bad here but we have to find which one will suit us for our persional use/driving conditions. Do test drive all the cars in the segment before picking up any car.

      Areas of improvement

Low pick up while in first and second gear, Restricted pressing area of the horn.

Driving Comfort, Riding, Engine, Suspension, Centerly placed power window control and BrakingPoor pick up while in low gears, Placement of horn

Exterior - good stylish exteriors, the front gives a look of the cruze platform. the headlamps are   also stylish and nicely integrated. the groove lines on the bonet just add to the look. the rear is also good looking and stylish. the boot is nicely integrated into the body.

the thing i didn't like is the average quality built of the car. it is not the most solid car around. the door locks are also not good either. you need to push the window harder to  close the doors.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)- as compared to exteriors, the interiors are a different story. interior is dull, the plastics are again of average quality. the AC controls are placed lower and the ON indicator lights are very dim & its a big discomfort. the power window controls are oddly placed, but now i am used to it. the car however is very effective.

the cabin is not very airy. i mean there should have been more glass for better visibility outside.

space is ample. good leg room in the front, in the back and ample space in the boot. the seats are comfortable with good thigh support, u don't get tired in a long drive.

the stereo is good. it has bluetooth connectivity and phone and audio streaming is very good. the bass of the speakers is good but the sound quality however is not very pleasant

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox- its a decent engine performance, not a very torqy, but very good linear acceleration, not much power lag. the speed of 100km/h is achieved with 2400rpm.

after having driven the car for 2000kms, i am getting an average of 17-18 on highway and 14 in the city, the company says it will increase after 5000kms, i will wait for that.

the gearbox is not as good. frequent gear shiting is required and 2nd gear lacks power, car stops when attempting to drive from rest in 2nd gear.

i have read many reviews about the engine sound in the cabin, but i didn't face any such problem

      Ride Quality & Handling

ride quality is good. steering is nice and responsive and its very smooth on the highway and also on rough roads. the suspension nicely absorbs most of the road bumps.

      Final Words

considering the price tag. its a value for money car.

      Areas of improvement

       interiors, build quality, gearbox,

good style, good suspension, good handling, good leg room, excellent boot space, very effective ACdull interiors, 2nd gear lags power, average built quality, door locks

      Exterior

Appearing good from front. Back boot lid is plain. side view is ok.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Firstly i would talk about space, it’s very good. a person of six ft can comfortably drive the vehicle. It has got under seat space to keep some small bags which i would say an additional storage space. Dash board is not very impressive; all four speakers of very basic.pls don’t expect a high instrumental music in your car but will give you normal sound effects. Seats are comfort. Power window switches are placed near gear rod which needs to get used to it. And here i should tell about steering wheel..... GM is totally gone wrong in the steering wheel design. It’s not at all a kind to be in a sedan class car. I am very much disappointed. Honda Amaze has got very nicely designed steering wheel. one should change this if you want to feel great whcen your hands on the steering wheel.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

As far as my knowledge i can say the performance is not bad. need to shift to first gear when you slow down to 20 ,30 . I cant say about fuel economy since its not checked & also not fair to calculate in a test drive. gearbox is well crafted its very smooth. reverse gear seems to be difficult for the people who drive indian cars. its giving good power on highways need not to worry when you over take a bus or a lorry , sail engine is  really responsive and deliver the power when actually you need it.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride quality is very good. has got required road grip. breaking is awesome. i drove the car at 100 to 130 kmph speed on bangalore and chennai highway , i never felt nervous about steering or breaking. mostly there is no noise in the closed cabin. Where Honda Amaze engines noise is hearable in the cabin and vibration is also noticeable in amaze.

      Final Words

After lot of research and test drives ( sail , amaze , dezire , swift , sunny , scala , classic ) i voted Chevy sail.

      Areas of improvement

GM Indai , Please change steering wheel , you need not to give additional options but it looks plain. At least like Beat. Under thigh support is missing . Sun glass holder is not present. lights on the power windos and OSRVMS also missing.

      Looks & handlingvery basic interiors.
