      Hey folks !

Yes, it was my dream to drive my own D segment car before I die. Yes, it got fulfilled on 11th Jan when I bought this white Ltz to my garage. Yes, I am not regretting my decision of opting Cruze over Laura as its a superb machine in its class.

Guys don't get confused about my age, its too young for me to die so fast (28yrs) but yes, with all zoo animals resting in no mans land, villager's resting area's at the road and the new comers with no driving sense made me finicky about my age !

I am taking about our highways which I can't neglect for the sake of roti, kapdaa and makaan only thing I can do is keep changing my dream....which is now shifted to a 6 Airbag car.

Well coming to the subject....I would like to term one word for this car as "effortless cruising". I came to know about what refinement actually means was after the TD of 850 KM in 2 days.

Engine: Should be the USP to sell this car...best and committed to deliver the power and refinement to its epitome level. This car feels the same to drive on both the levels of 180 or 120 KM/hr - no let downs in this sector for sure. Smooth cursing at all gears and speed made me fall in love with it at the highways. (Have heard Turbo lag etc etc, Yes it is there but let me tell you honestly I am not feeling any such thing after driving it more then 2k in 12 days.

Interiors: Yes, It is not up to the mark to value attached, plastic not only feel cheap but they are cheap though seats looks fine and the over interior with lights and buttons makes it look pleasant. Though you will not like it love at first sight but Yes, It would look good when you will have to search the dirt marks on grey which outspokes on Beige. The overall cockpit feel give us the required enthu and zeal to drive this car more passionately.

Features: This is one sector which she scores openly, loaded with almost everything u expect in ur car it sometime makes u lazy to earn as what else you would buy in ur next car ? The sunroof and Auto AC is of highest quality, cruise control is fun to use and the screen with stereo and other info is very useful. The screen behaves like an iPod while playing CD's where u can jump on to any song with search and other useful options.

Overall Appeal: It seems to be a promising buy after so much of research on Skoda India through Carwale and other reviews, as of now I guess it will be a fun to keep this car in my garage for the next 2 years !

Verdict: Like others i too was worried about the future of GM in India and the life cycle of Cruze. I took the calculated risk as I could not see shelf space of more then 3 years of any model in India now.

(Hope I have not acted as a sales man of GM as its my longest post ever on Carwale so far.)

I purchased a Chevrolet Cruze car in January 2010 from Regent Automobile, Okhla. I was amongst the first purchasers of this car.

The car has a major manufacturing defect. And to add to this, the service ethics of the company and the dealership are really poor.  Even despite there being warranty on most of the items, they refuse to cover in warranty citing some excuse or the other

The car has done only 35,000 kms. However, in less than two years, the flywheel, clutch plates and clutch pads of the said car have been replaced twice. The brake pads have been replaced. The battery has been replaced. The tyre has been replaced. The ignition relay has been replaced. The coding of the car has been repaired. The air-conditioning is defective since last one year. And the fuel pipe was faulty and was recalled by the company.

Now, sInce last one year, I have been complaining about the air-conditioning in the said car. Despite there being a manufacturing defect, the dealer M/s Regent Automobiles is refusing to cover in warranty, though there is warranty of 3 years or 1 lakhs kms. The dealer is claiming that the condensor; radiator etc. have been damaged by driving the car over some speed breaker etc. and thus they cannot cover in warranty. They have given an estimate of Rs. 50,000 for the replacements.

This is not the first time. Every time, the car is sent to Regent Aumobiles, the fault is attributed to us, and we are made to bear the cost.

The company should take immediate corrective action and improve its after-sales service, which already has a very poor reputation.

TRANSCRIPS OF EMAIL SENT TO CHERVOLET COMPANY AS COMPLAINT ,

i thought i should / would had called myself a proud owner of cruze , being cruze as a product would get 10 out of 10 , but to my fault or bad luck because of unprofessional attitude and response from service team i am sure i must say buying cruze was a big mistake.

i am forwarding this mail just for the sole purpose that being connected with cruze (as a buyer) i fell you should know or try to know what are the difficulties your customers face in dealing with your highly qualified field dealers/service personnels. my car is name of m/s garv steel ltd.

point to point details from the day 1st to till date are mentioned below ( this will strengthen your further services)

day1 dated around 12th of march 2010 , cruze ltz was booked advance of rs 50000 was given with a commitment that car will be made available within 1 week time , but to my surprise till 29 th cruze was not available and when we got a call that car is ready for delivery it was 30 th closing period of financial year , i could not get it delivered .

on 5th april the car was delivered (delay due to my side being another financial year) , but with some accessories not available in stock , although they had billed and full payment had been paid , i was promised by them that they will give me a call withing 3-4 days and get the remaining accessories fixed.

remaining accessories were two pieces of chrome shades that were to be fixed on windows , my point is that how come it is around two months and still the part is not available , if in case the part when arrives if the chrome or shade of accessories put by your dealer and the remaining accessories dont match then will the dealer replace all the chromed accessories ? , why should i suffer with a car of 14 lacks giving a look thats strange to be seen .

the accessories that have been fixed by dealer is already loose and to my surprise a chrome accessories part that was fixed on window has come out due to use of sub-standard tape to fix that part or no-technical knowledge as to how the part was to be fixed.please tell me should i take my car to some road side repair shop or pull apart the remaining accessories.

i had ordered for an cover , as it was not available in stock on 5th april , i got the cover on 19th of may , isnt it something too much professional .

the sales staff available with the dealer is good but dont know why these things happen , its unfortunate for us as my grand father too had a Chevrolet and now the things have changed

please dont mind if any thing or word i told are harsh in nature , my sole object is just to let you know whats a proud customer actually faces when company spends crores of rupees in brand building and sales promotion , i just wanted to say one more thing a real promotion in sales and brand is thru satisfied consumers and mouth publicity,

      regards

      dinesh gupta

Exterior Now whoever thinks CRUZE is a bad looker..close this window and have a re-look at your bajaj scooter.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Now here things might not be as Hunky dory. Interiors are OK not something to scream about but yes standard feautures 6 CD changer trip meter, odometer, sun roof, fuel economy etc etc.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Now thats where the CRUZE rules. compare the price and the power of the 2 litre engine along with the stabilty the car has at high speeds. Just off the Jaipur highway at 180Kmph felt nothing out of ordinary, pick up is way ahead of competition (civic, altis, or even jetta). Fuel economy with that power and a 2.0 litre engine is wonderful >13 and dont forget its a Diesel Car. Gearshift is as smooth as Catherine Zeta Zones' skin.

Ride Quality & Handling Perfect ride and quality of drive.

Final Words Losers who dont own it whine about it being Daewooish and what not..but y'all Suck big time, in it's price range CRUZE wins all around those stuck with Japanese shit strick with your Toyotas and Hondas but seriously it's time to widen the horizen and love the CRUZE.

Areas of improvement Interior and comfort.

I would a Cruze about 1.5 years ago from SC Motors and within a span of 1.5 years, the gear box, clutch plate, brake plates need to be replaced.

The car is very high in maintenance and the moment you send the car to the service centre they charge you exorbidant charges. The Service engineers dont know the warranty of the spare parts and just wanted to levy a heavy charge. Imagine a bill of Rs 91,000 just in the 4th Service. KIndly refrain from buying this car. Mr Kailash ( kaiXXXXXX@gm.com ) doesnt even reply to the mails send to him. He is supposed to be the Services General Manager at GM Motors. Mr Makhija from SC Auto was also too rude on the Customer servicr front. I think all these guys get an incentive on their service revenues and hence find faults and charge heavy.

Kindly refrain from buying any Chervolet car in India.

      Chervolet Sucks,

      Regards

      Siddharth Mehta.

Exterior Awesome styling, monstrous bonnet ! No head will remain unturned while this car is passing by, Great stance when parked, especially from front oblique view.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Awesome dashboard - very futuristic; Rear legroom is less.

No USB port or bluetooth, Cruise control very useful. U can actually accelerate or decelerate using the cruise control button. So now u can keep ur legs off too! Activating cruise control above 40 kmph is very useful compared to other cars which activate only after 60kmph, Grey interiors look different but should have kept beige option too. Interior and dash lights can be dimmed with the flick of abutton. very indegenious!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Awesome power and torque, fair fuel economy, excellent gear box.

Ride Quality & Handling Great even at speeds in xs of 190. Rides very well over rough roads.

Final Words Want raw power and value for hard earned money? This is the car ! Go for it!

Areas of improvement Rear legroom, rear AC vents, headlights - for the kind of power the car has and the speeds it can achieve (actually did a 205kmph), headlights should have been more powerful.

Power, power, torque, torque... Looks muscular and really handsomeNo rear AC vents, tyres sqeak at high speed turn, headlights poor for the kind of power the car has

      Exterior GOOD.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) GOOD.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox ITS GOOD TILL ITS GET REPAIR.

      Ride Quality & Handling GOOD.

Final Words I own Cruze LTD (MT). 2010 MODEL I HAVE DONE 56000 KM, BUT I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED CLUTCH PLATE, GEAR BOX, DRIVE SOFT, ALL THIS HIS BEEN CHANGED WITHOUT WARRANTY, OVERALL ITS VERY EXPENSIVE MAINTENANCE MORE OVER IT AS NO RE-SALE VALUE ATALLLLLLL... NOW THEY ARE ASKING MY CRUZE FOR LESS THEN 5 LAKS EVEN IN COMPANY THEY ARE ASKING FOR SAME PRICE BUT I HAVE PURCHASED FOR 17 LAKS ONLY IN SPAN OF 3 1/2 YEARS DEPRECIATION IS 12 LAKHS... THIS CAR IS GOOD ONLY FOR LOOKING BUT IF U OWN IT THEN U SHOULD BE READY TO FACE SERIOUS FINANCE PROBLEM. I TOTALLY HATE THIS ENTIRE PRODUCTS OF CHEVROLET IN INDIA.

Areas of improvement KINDLY TAKE STEP TO INCREASE THE RE-SALE VALUE OF THE CAR, OTHER WISE STOP THE PRODUCTION.

GOOD PICK-UP AND CONTROL IS FOR GOODBAD SERVICE, HIGH MAINTENANCE, NO RE-SALE VALUE

      Exterior Exterior looks good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good Space & Comfortable seating with bucketful features.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine could not be any better though a little drag before 1500 rpm could have been reduced but still no reason to crib at all..it sure is a powerhouse..fuel economy is also something which can give all the Skodas a run for their money and Gearbox is all cream..stars all the way..amazing handling and unexplainable ride feel, Drive it to know what i am trying to say.

Ride Quality & Handling Responds really well at any speed.. you might just find yourself looking for reasons to drive Cruze again. It sure is an amazing car.

Final Words I cannot remember when I last fell in love with my car. but this time I sure am in love with my Cruze. There is so much to experience in this car. Whether its the BMW kinda interiors or Merc ride quality. If you are reading this review, I am sure you really are serious about buying yourself a Cruze. Dont wait. Go ahead and start savouring the pleasure of driving this ultimate machine.

Areas of improvement Headroom and legroom at the rear could have been improved. But who would give the pleasure of driving the Cruze to a driver.

Amazing power, beautiful cockpit interiors, the overall feel..Cramped legroom and headroom in the rear..

Best GM car yet ? yes possibly . The cruze has been one of the most important launches of this year & is very important for GM india's fortunes . On the looks front though it is job done , it looks fantastic with its massive split grille with a huge chevy logo means it would get you noticed everywhere , the whole car is aggressively designed but the rear styling which looks similar to the civic is dissapointing. The insides of the cruze are fantstic with its modern , futuristic style , the blue lights , the dials are all stunning .However the LTZ version has features like climate control, keyless entry & start , sunroof . Its rivals like the laura & jetta don't have these .

Comfort wise the front seats are very good , but the rear is dissapointing , the headroom due to the coupe like design is limited plus legroom is not good either, the laura beats the cruze in this department .

The cruze has stunning performance as well , with its 148 bhp engine its more than the 104 bhp laura 1.9 tdi engine , but it suffers from severe turbo lag which means you have to downshift a lot & the engine will take time to spool up , hear the laura with its less turbo lag wins ahead but in the highway the cruze clearly wins due to its bhp advantage. The mileage is about 10-12 . In the city though you will notice the stiff clutch which means driving in stop go traffic is difficult .

Overall the cruze LTZ variant at 14.5 lakh ( the variant to buy )is cheaper than rivals like jetta , laura but has more features , it looks amazing as well , in few months the cruze automatic & petrol engine will make it a winner in its segment.

looks , features , explosive performancepoor headroom at rear , quality of interior , turbo lag , stiff clutch

      Exterior

Great & Sturdy. (Guess what last month I was hit by a private but in the rear with a bang!!. I thought its over and I had to shell out 25k or so; but when I got down, I noticed nothing happened, except a little peel of paint. (later at home noticed a very small un noticible dent). I think the car is very well designed to take care of situations that are unavoidable on city roads.

Love the PEPS (Pasive Entry & Passive Start) system... and simple touch lock.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The interiors (mine is LTZ) look trendy and great. Pretty good leather seats, cool sunroof, great electronic display, awesome 6-CD audio with Aux support (no USB though). What is very interesting is rain sensing wipers (that I came to know when suddenly the wipers started on theor own). More than any thing else, the front panel gives you a feeling that you are in a cockpit (no other car has such awsome panels and styling).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Engine performance is great, Fuel Economy is onpar and exceeds their ad rating. I think the clutch though is little tough, but it could be because of Diesel version?

      Ride Quality & Handling

Excellent on highways, but in small lanes & bumper to bumoer traffic feel like AT is better.

      Final Words

For sure, GM came with the right car in the segment; and CRUZE for sure is a great buy than its competitor in the segment (Laura or Civic or Altis - I ranked these in order before purchasing).

      Areas of improvement

Add boot open switch inside the car, rather than use it from the remote control.

Great Style, looks, good FE and Strong bodymay feel like rear space is less (but the CRUZE is not a taxi, it is like a Sporty looking car)
