Exterior: IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW, IT’S MAINLY BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE LOOKS OF THIS CAR. My take on looks - it's not girly but muscular, tough and stylish. It is the best looking car in all segments below Honda Accord and above. I own a Cruze but I still like the Accord it has what no other does (review is not about Accord though...). At first you might not like the rear view so much but once you own it, you get to observe it closely and the styling is wide at the rear bottom and looks somewhat like Swift, it comes as bold & bulky from the bottom and gets narrower as you move up, you will know what I mean once you see it more carefully.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): I WILL WRITE WHAT IT DOES NOT HAVE, rear head room is not meant for guys/ladies taller than 5'10" especially when you are sitting in rear corner seats (curved roof-top is the culprit).
NEXT IS WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE HEARD SO FAR BUT IS CRITICAL!!
There is bit of A problem with the cockpit design too (I must admit dashboard was one thing that forced me to buy this missile in first place), if you do adjust your front seat so that you could see car bonnet you will hit the dashboard with you knee too often and it does not feel great at all!! Also, if you lower down your front seats, AC knobs are placed such that your knee is bound to change the settings every time you hit the AC knobs namely temp control and fan speed.
ONLY COMES WITH FRONT AIRBAGS (I would have loved at least 6 airbags, considering the speeds it can go up to) AND --- NO USB? WHY?
EVERYTHING APART FROM ABOVE IS EXCEPTIONALLY COOL AND I LOVE IT!!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: NOTHING YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT, as most you have already heard the lag during low RPMs it is not that bad, if you owned petrol car in past you will adjust well with this shortcoming - reason? You tend to change gears too often in petrol engine to keep engine in sync with speed, if you do same with CRUZE and control the RPM above 1400 it never lets you down.
Ride Quality & Handling: NO COMPLAINTS FOR RIDE QUALITY BUT HANDLING IS WHAT I AM AFTER, ride quality is as it should be in this segment (apart from the pothole created sound from the tyre but that only happens when you hit a big one and really hard, experts will argue and blame that on tyres not the car itself). Handling is a bit of a letdown for me, power steering is not calibrated properly, I guess. You would only realize the problem when you have to steer car steeply on little-higher speed, steering seems to work unevenly and it feels that it’s too sensitive to your response and gives a feeling of sudden jerk.
UPDATE:
1. I had mentioned in my review that power steering is very choppy in corners etc. It turned out to be mainly due to too much air in the tyres (thanks to Car Dealers who sold me this car with 50psi pressure where it should have been between 32-39 psi as per car specifications).
Final Words: IF THIS CAR WAS COMING FROM TOYOTA OR HONDA IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 16-20 LACK CAR. Meaning, price tag takes it all from competitors, Please do not go by what I have mentioned, I have only highlighted Cons that people must know before buying it but car has so many usable features that above problems cannot take away from CRUZE. Things I enjoy most: Pickup, Speed, Mileage, Comfort, Muscular Looks, Big Alloy and Tyres, Keyless operation, Suspension, Sunroof & LOOKS, PICKUP, SPEED and LOOKS, PICKUP, SPEED...... ...... ...... .....
Areas of improvement: POWER STEERING, USB, REAR HEAD ROOM, NUMBER OF AIRBAGS, NOISE FROM TYRES (THIS CAN BE REDUCES BY LOWERING THE AIR PRESSURE - RECOMMENDED SETTING BY CHEVY FOR COMFORT DRIVE).
UPDATE: The passive entry system is not perfect, I have noticed it twice in last 2 months that pressing start button does not always start the car and produces sound as if battery is low or car is missing few self beat in the beginning. In order to start again I press stop button and start again and it works fine!!
2. Once I got the tyre pressure right, I was surprised to drive this beast and there were no problems with the steering and more over the tyre noise in cabin reduced considerably.

Hi all will like to take this opportunity to share my experience about Cruze LTZ that i own for past 15 odd days :) My initial Ownership views :-- The cars Multi Info display is user friendly & easy to use. The details are sure in KM & not Miles The FE i have been getting is 18+ as of now (Drove around 1100 KM till now) I feel same will go up by another 2 Km or so as i have been enjoying the power bursts a bit too much The Stereo output is good but gets a little getting used too. The system ion Laura is much easier to use. Though has Aux input but would have been great if also has USB direct input Headlights no issue - Good power & decent output. Can be regarded better than Fiesta if that is a benchmark No or very little accesories still available with dealers Seats are comfy & better than Laura as have good side body support (Especially driver seats). You tend to feel as if sitting in a sports car rather than a sofa Was speaking with someone from GM & what he told me is that they already have confirmed booking of 1500+ cars. Phenomenal number for car in this price bracket in India which is more of a Hatchback heaven I got mine serviced at 1000Km a couple of days back & am yet to come across a nick nack. I live in Noida & have the luxury of driving on express highway & have done upto 160 KMPH without a hint of tiredness displayed by car. Note - this is very unlike Laura as i have onwed that before too The FE has been a delight with me getting it around 18 in last 3 or 4 tank ups. The interior thoough not Biege is actualy better for Indian conditions if you ask me. My Laura & Endeavours seats (more so Driver which is heavy usage) had black color easily available on its ends. The same is not so with Grey color theme Stereo is also a boon with great output There are 2 slots in armrest; one is Aux for Ipods etc. Not sure of the second one will check when visit the dealer next I took a calculated risk of going for this car as it is more of a drivers car compared to competition & at lower cost (Laura or Civic). Add to that the need for Diesel which is not met at this rate/cost by anyone I have kept many cars in past but am yet to come across a car which can be termed as "Complete Package". You will like some & dislike so more!! Main point to consider that does it meet the top 5 needs that you have? Mine were :-- Diesel Cost (under 14 lakhs) 3 Box - Should have boot ASS - Very poor of Skoda Features like Sunroof & stereo of highest quality I got all these in one car what else could you want. I have people pass comments like; very BMW type interiors minus wood finish etc passed by people riding with me Yet to come across any comparable car (Civic, Altis or Laura) which has been able to match the pickup at a red light . I was not looking for anything more in a car; for now!!
Car with Excellent torque, Gem of a engine & features at a recessionary rateRealy not much. The boot space should have been a bit betterExterior/Styles

The worst car to recommend as met with severe accident within 1 week of purchase and air bag did not open. have photos to prove of the fully damaged car with none of air bag opened and have led me to critical stage since 2mnths. have got internal brain injury. by grace of god I am saved but since 2 mnths stil on recovery period. If the air bag would have opened would have been saved as have not got any fracture or scares at all. Bought the car with lot of trust with worlds best chevorlet but the car is not upto its mark. Imagine 1 week old car cheated. what if it would a year old. I would not recommend this car as its dangerous car to use as not trust worthy and people can lose life if met with accident. My hope and trust is gone for stake with chevolrlet. Its cost me more than 5lakhs for my hospital. With the fact of air bag not opening up would appreciate if something can be done abt it. Bad and negative feedback for cruze only coz of small mistake as proper atention was not given to get this car ready. Not worth the money paid for it as almost lost my life with silly error made by the company...
Good style and good space and comfortableMet with accident within 1week o fpurchase and air bag did not open at all.

Hi All, I just visited a Chevrolet dealer in Mumbai and was fairly impressed with the vehicle package, however the points below concern me a little and i'm hope some / all of you could shed some light on them; 1. Service costs: the dealer though reluctant did divulge details about the service costs after much pursual. I was categorically told that any amounts over Rs. 36,500 invested towards service costs would be refunded. Does this imply that every instance of service could potentially cost upwards of Rs. 36,500?. Incase this is true, this would prove to be a very expensive car to maintain. 2. Engine noise: While the car was parked in the service bay, I did notice that there was a lot of engine grunt, noise and vibration being emitted into the cabin, on checking with the service engineer, pls remember not the service "advisor", it was highlighted that one could keep the music or entertainment system running to cut or dampen the engine, this point does raise questions regarding the long term ramification of the diesel engine, since after 5 years of regular usage the car could potentially begin to sound like a truck or the old tata sumos, which had nothing but the annoying diesel engine sound echoing in the cabin. 3. Entry & Exit: I am about 5'11" and did face difficulties in entering and exiting the vehicle, though I have owned and driven several cars, I certainly faced the most difficulty in entering and exiting the Cruze. In my estimation, a individual who is slim & lean may not face as much a difficulty as someone who may be on the plumpier side. I would sincerely appreciate feedback on the Chevrolet Cruze from all you auto enthusiasts out there as well as individuals who already own the vehicle as this may help a number of people trying to make up their mind about whether it makes sense to invest in Chevrolet as a brand or shall we continue to look for better competition. Thanks, Sameer.

GM probably shuld have launched this car long time back, but its better late than never. So Cruze is finally here.First look at this car will make you realize it is a car which can match the superb's and Accord's, but its priced less than civic, octavia, altis.
If i compare the engine its ahead of civic, octavia, altis.
Looks: octavia is ancient and there are too many civic's on the road. But its more lengthy and broader than civic, octavia, altis.
Comfort: I guess altis might be a competitor.
Performance: Its way better that civic, octavia, altis with a 150 ps engine it will race ahead of other cars on the road.
money:starring with 11lakhs in delhi, its a steal. i wish had not brought a car recently i would have brought it now.
Value for money, new features, bold & muscular look, powerful yet efficient engine, tallest brodest.None...for those who Think its cons might be its a GM brand, guys get over itExterior/Styles

What else you want in car at this price? Skoda / Honda Civic/ Toyota Corolla Altis even VW Jetta are not able to match it in most of the departments like Fuel economy, looks (but it is subjective matter), features like Cruise control & Sun roof, moon roof. I checked it with my U.S friends, they say this is one of the best from GM stable- a real stallion.

I was overwhelmed when Cruze launched in India and after i compared the spec sheet to that of Laura it seemed quite a straight forward decision to make the car had a good engine and killer looks.
That along with Chevy promise made me book the car the test drive came later it was impressive and i congratulated myself for a bargain deal since the LTZ has a lot of features that entry Laura does not have.
After taking delivery we took a trip to Dharamshala and and had a place booked in Mcleodganj, the starting from Delhi was good enough no real problems since it was hot i voted to open the sun roof and it was open until we reached Chandigarh. We reached late in the day and it was starting to get nippy so i tried to close the sunroof but to my horror it did not close. My family members started to feel the cold and soon i was forced to make a unscheduled stop in Chandigarh and cancel my booking in Shimla.
The next day i tried forcing the sun roof shut tried to disconnect and reconnect the battery not to no avail finally took the car to the Chevy A.S.S in Chandigarh. They opened up the assembly and said that the motor has gone bad, i told them to replace it thinking it will be covered under the Chevy promise but i was wrong they billed me an insane amount and after some fierce words they told me that its a consumable item and not covered under so i had to pay up and that was that.
We left straight for Dharamshala the next day early around 8 AM but as we reached Karsoog it started to rain heavily and to my dismay the dam sunroof started to leak :( i was angry at the A.S.S people so angry that i called them up an gave them a piece of my mind. They told me to wrap a towel around the screen and then close it again i did exactly that since the rain drops were cold as ice and the car started to smell even with the heater up high.
The towel did the trick initially it was good for the around 30mins but then again it stared to drip i changed the towel and again it worked for around 30mins what i did not realize at the time was that i had damaged the net that comes up when the sunroof is opened. The whole car started to get moist and damp i could not do anything else but drive on till i reached some shelter. We reached a hotel after about two hours and i parked my sweety under a roof opened up the sunroof got the towel out and kept the engine and heater running for about 20mins with the sunrof open after which i took the keys out and went to my room.
The next day the car did not open up at all using the remote i had to use the physical key after i was in the car i tried to start the engine but to my horror the low battery sign came on i tried getting the car pushed but it did not start at all so Mr Rakesh the owner of the lodge gave my battery a jump using his Innova and at last my car sprang back to life after i was certain the battery was charged up we left for Dharamshalaon the way we stopped for lunch and after which i again could not get my car to open up with the remote again had to use the physical key but at least the battery was ok and did not die like the last time.
We reached Dharamshala late and the very next day i took the car to be looked at it turned out that a rubber sleeve in the sunroof was damaged and needed to be replaced i told him to put a hot patch or something in there so it does not leak but it was as easy the patch was put but when ever i closed the sunroof the patch cameoff desperate i told him to stop the leakage so what he did was shut the sunroof and apply a coat of liquid silicon on all sides of the sun roof as long as the sunroof was shut water would not come in.
The next few days were spent happily until i came back to Delhi, i was told that a parts of the sunroof had to be changed because it was damaged. These parts included the rubber seal brace, rubber seal and also the net. The sensor in the car that detects the key was also said to be dead and because it was my fault "moisture in car" the sensor will not be replaced for free.
Chevy should really step up their A.S.S and not just blame the user for everything how was i suppose to stop moisture from building up in the car without a fully sealed sunroof. I am just to cashless to get all the problems fixed and i have only asked the sunroof to be fixed in closed because it was the cheapest option avalible.
I hope you can understand where the A.S.S. stand and how they work not to mention the super high cost of their spares. If you are interested in the Cruze i will not tell you its worthless but know where you stand with A.S.S and cost of ownership. I will have to fix up the car in the future but right now i am just angry that all these added repairs cost more than they would for a Skoda Laura, one of the reasons why i bought the car was VFM and its distortedat this time.
Exterior Looks good has a in your face look and very attractive stance and road presence.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Low on space in fact some lower class cars like the City have more space.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very good engine, one of the best you can have for this price range.
Ride Quality & Handling Not bad quality but not great either because of the harder ride. Handling is good thanks due to a non EPS system.
Final Words For a car of this price i was not prepaired to handle the niggles that came with it and the lack of spares is just too much.
Areas of improvement A.S.S quality is very bad have waited for a month to get my sunroof repaired in Delhi.
150PS engine, Nice looks and ok FESunroof jam's, Remote entry went horribly wrong, Overtaking needs shifts
