Chevrolet Beat [2009-2011] Interior

General Motors launched the Beat hatchback in January 2010 and since then the company had been promising a diesel version. Now, a year and a half later since making that promise, it has now kept its word and is all set to launch the Beat’s diesel avatar.

The year 2010 has witnessed the launch of many new hatchbacks in India – the Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and the Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 (recently launched in new trim levels). All the four cars have a 1.2-litre petrol engine and come within the Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh price bracket. What’s more, all these car manufacturers are attempting to boost their sales figures with these newly launched hatches in an already overcrowded segment.
