Very Good Exteriors

 Excellent no need of improvement in this area. It feels like sedan.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Overall Engine is good but more power is required. I think they should have brought a 1.4L Engine instead of 1.2L. Fuel Economy on the hiways is excellent (approx 17km/L)

Final Words

I am driving this car from past 2 1/2 years (approx), overall it has been a good experience.

The after sales services are not good, just an average performance by the service people, it does not seems to be GM services, may be they have customized their services for Indians ;)

Good for family but Guys who like speed please avoid.

 It's very specious in side. Especially leg room for rear seat passenger is very good. The car is very smooth ,in 5th gear even at the speed of 30 it doesnot knock. The well balanced body , the traction in tyres, the adjustable steering ,the speed is simply superb.One can drive in congested streets with ease without much shifting of gears  Cabin is very silent , no vibrations. It's suspensions are very impressive hence no rattling sound of body parts / fiber parts inside the cabin.

Areas of improvement  

 Increase the Tyre radius and more power in CAR

Hi all

i recently bought a UVA 1.2 LS(IVORY GOLD color)  from German Motors calicut.Got free insurance,free MP3 player, mud flaps,anti rust coating.

UVA is a wonderful car.as far as style is concerned, its a queen among other hatchbacks especially i like the curves in side.i have driven my car around 100 kms in highways and cities.In city, it suprised me.I drove my car at 30 km speed in 5 th gear.amazing...when i entered in highways, i didnt feel lack of power...but when i switch on AC, in flat roads, its was riding like a horse... in inclined roads, it doesnt have enough power...but my cousine said that, most of the cars have this problem..

Pros:

good styling,good stability,well weighted steering,very spacious especially backseats,clear lamps.

Cons:

My cars gears are not much smooth esepcially first,second and reverses.My dealer said tht after first checkup, it will be ok.The position of horn which is located on the center position.Sometimes, it would loose your driving comfort.

About fuel efficiency:i got an average of 15 km per liter.For me its enough.

I had done a lot of research in hatchbacks and finally i decided to buy UVA. I had three choices which were swift ZXI,Getz prime 1.3 and UVA 1.2 LS.

I have seen that all people want to know the difference between these three cars.I would like to put my findings here.

Swift: its a superb car in highways.It has 86 bhp and good mileage of 16 km/l in highways.Problems are legspace in backseats and heard that it starts vibratin when u drive after 100 kms.Advantages: coming with ABS and airbag for 4.6 lakhs.

Getz: first of all its 1.1 liter version is not good enough. 1.3 is overly priced.compared to UVA, its 1.1 lacks power and style.If u go for 1.3, u can buy a sedan of that price.

My extra fittings: i fitted a spoiler,cheverolet's genuine leather seat cover and fog lamps. I have a plan to buy chevy's warning system too.

i know i left a lot of things here..If u guys want to know anything more abt UVA , plz put msgs here...

First of all i have a advise to u...plz do as many as test drives...it will help u a lot...then read the reviews especailly from carwale and other sites.

Exterior I'VE PURCHASED AVEO UVA IN JAN, 2010. I'M REALLY SATISFIED WITH THIS CAR. ITS A SELF DRIVEN CAR.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) INTERIOR OF UVA IS EXTREMELY SPACIOUS,, VERY GOOD QUALITY--BEIGE INTERIOR--SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE TOO..AC IS VERY POWERFUL..BT ONE THING IS VERY PROBLEMATIC--ITS INTERIOR COLOUR WHICH IS BEIGE--WHILE DRIVING ,,I SEE THE SHADOW OF DASHBOARD ON THE WINDSCREEN WHICH HAMPERS DRIVING A LITTLE BIT.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS GOOD. BT SO FAR AS FUEL ECONOMY IS CONCERNED, ITS NOT VERY SATISFYING..GIVING ONLI 11.5KM/L WHICH IS NOT SATISFACTORY. REGARDING GEAR BOX SHIFTING FROM FIRST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR SOMETIMES ARE PROBLEMATIC.

Ride Quality & Handling GOOD. RIDE QUALITY IS REALLY GOOD.

Final Words FINALLY AVEO UVA IS A VERY GOOD, SPACIOUS HATCHBACK AND IT'S SUITABLE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T COMPROMISE WITH THE QUALITY.

Areas of improvement MAIN AREA OF IMPROVEMENT, AS PER MY VIEW, SHOULD BE ITS MILAGE. ANOTHER ONE IS COLOUR OF THE INTERIOR IT'S BEIGE COLOURED NOW THERE IS A PROBLEM DURING DRIVING,, AS I SEE THE SHADOW OF DASHBOARD ON THE WINDSCREEN WHICH IS VERY ANNOYING. THE INTERIOR COLOUR SHOULD BE CORRECTED.

Exterior I am in luv with exterior luks n unique style.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, Comfortable 2 drive, front space, you can hardy keep tissue box if not interestd 2 fall on your lap.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is not upto standard. or as advertised.Engine perfomance is average.Gearbox is little  away for the hand to reach, n reverse gear requires more lubrication.

Ride Quality & Handling Riding is smooth in general. quick start and good pick up. However gives a knock at base if u r riding with five people on indian rough roads.

Final Words Though i luvd this car in this segment comparitively, it would hav been much better to have more service centre with trust worthy people to serve you. The employees of all category should know to behave honestly with customers, as my experience with service centres were bad in General in two states and quality of service also poor campared to other makers.If you want to give regular service to your car , and not wellversed with car; the employees discover some probems which is not real and try to make money. Car maintainace is very minimum compared to other cars in this segment. its a stylish car and people will luv it to buy if u can give adequate service.

Areas of improvement The few minor concerns are, headlight brightness, front space to keep tissues etc, reverse gear, n fuel economy.  major concern is the quality of service and poor -un trustworthy customer care.

Exterior It should be standard and should not become out-of-fashion within the next 10 years at least was my foremost expectation when it came to exterior looks for my new car. The Chevrolet Aveo U-VA's exteriors are just the way I wanted my new car to be. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Classy beige interiors add up to the unfailing comfort, and generous seating capacity (space) offered by the car. The electronic features inside the car are just the bare minimum but fair enough for any kind of travel. The storage compartments and provisions are thoughtfully planted to contain all normal travel needs for a family.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1.2 Lt. petrol engine is unrelenting at high speeds and the stability of the car at even speeds as high as 130 Km/Hr is phenomenal. The braking is responsive and assuring. Gears especially number 1, 2 and the reverse do not fall into position easily at times and put the driver in embarrassing situations while negotiating heavy traffic. Fuel economy is bit of a concern. It consumes more fuel when compared to its contemporary competitors.

Ride Quality & Handling This is an extraordinary performer on the highways. Comparatively local rides are not as enjoyable as long drives but are certainly worth the investment. Maneuverability is good.

Final Words In total the GM Chevrolet Aveo U-VA LS is a unique car designed and equipped for a unique clientele.

Areas of improvement I'm happy with it as it is. It just fits my needs and is nothing more that I cannot fathom.

 I have driven 13000KMS with this car. Initil pick up to 40KMPH is relatvely low when compared to maruti/Hyundai vehicles but after reaching 50KMPH in 5th gear it becomes one of the most pleasant driving cars. Control on vehicle even at 120KMPH is superb. Passengers seating in the car do not feel so much about turnings/speed when compared to other vehicles due to its size.

Highway Economy 16.6KM/Litre with AC

City 13.5KM/Litre with AC

Final Words

 If one is not looking for a racing car and loves comfort and ride quality one must go for this car. Service is good and I have CPCO offer and till now (after 1.5yrs) no maintainence other than oil/filter change are done. I could get wheel balancing for three years done at free of cost.

Areas of improvement  

About 7 months with this car I have a few more things to add on to what ever is written by me earlier. I am very happy to have opted for this car. The quality of drive, comfort & pleasure is comparable to none in this segment. It feels like a big car and UVA is ,definitely very big on space inside and this makes it stand out from Getz or Swift. Surprisingly even the boot is also very spacious. There was a minor adjustment with the A/C that was required and the service station downloaded a new software for the same, after which the cooling has become better and even the average of the car has increased. The fuel economy of the car has settled down to around 12 KM/Lit which in my opinion is good considering Mumbai traffic. The initial problem that I had with gear is no longer and issue now and gear shift is very smooth. So far there has been no maintenance issues. Anyone looking to buy a hatch back should definitely have a look at UVA. I think it scores over the rest and though might look a bit costly, will be a very good buy and prove value for money in long run.

It has been 2 months that I got my new UVA- LT. Overall the experience has been strictly OK. There are a lot of creases that Chevrolet need to iron to make this a good car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very very very poor. Highly dissatisfied on all three above. From day one had a reverse gear and handbreak problem in brand new car. It never got solved even after 2 and half years. Car goes for regular maintenance and every service these complaints are given, gets rectified for a week or so and again same trouble starts. After two years, fuel meter has started giving faulty readings. After several complaints not done yet. Their three year maintenance package is a hogwash. Have mailed several times to company directly and dealer also, but they are not able to improve on problems. Service satisfaction is also very low. They come with one or the other thing to charge despite a 3 year full service package. It gives a feeling of cheating by company.

Ride Quality & Handling Ok ok nothing great.

Final Words Never go for Chevrolet, you will waste all your money.
