Exterior Great BMW looks, powerful stance.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort Pretty good but not luxurious. The dashboard and interior lights are great. The trim is average.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Takes off like a rocket! In the sport mode no SUV can match this baby. While motoring it purrs along with the high performance diesel making only a soft gurgling sound. The automatic gear box is reasonably crisp and gear shifts are clean. In a new car I'm getting 10-11 Km a litre on largely in town driving so not bad.

Ride Quality & Handling Great. The steering is not too light. It does not feel like a soft sedan but gives you the feel of a bigger vehicle. Cornering is fine, does not roll and the steering feels OK in your hands. High speed driving (I have only managed 120 Kmph) is just great.

Final Words BMW is one of the car brands that one dreams of. The X1 is the most reasonably priced way of buying into the brand and it does not dissapoint. It may be reasonably priced but all that BMW stands for especially 'the joy of driving' is all there.

Areas of improvement Wish they had given the idrive features on this model.
