Skoda Rapid [2015-2016] User Reviews

Hi,
I own a skoda Rapid and couple of days before, an unidentified two wheeler hit the side of the car and bumper came out a little.
when I checked with local mechanic, he said that by replacing few bushes, it can be repaired.
Since, it was due for my general service also, I approached SGA cars, Coimbatore for service and also to repair the bumper.
They took 2 days to prepare an estimate and gave it to me; the estimate was around 20000 rupees which includes bumper replacement for the minor repair.
I was surprised and declined to do the replacement.
The service advisor negotiated with me as in words "Sir, you have insurance coverage and finally you have pay only 2000 Rs from my pocket and remaining will be covered by insurance"
I told him about what the local mechanic said and preferred to take the vehicle wihtout service.
He started threatening me as I need to pay 3000 Rs - 2000 rs for 2 days parking fees and 1000 Rs for estimate.
I shouted at him that this was not told me during when I left the vehicle.
He responded as you signed in the vehicle hand over slip which includes this fees also.
He added that, if I agree to do the replacement , he will waive off the parking fees.

I dont had any choice and got the bumper replaced.
It is an absolute misuse of insurance coverage. When I was about to take the car our after the bumper replacement, I heard he was using the same fraud to cheat another customer.

Insurance is to claim for valid ones, but these SGA car guys are using this to cheat others.

Exterior Well build and Nice look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front seats are comfortable for even a 6" footers, thanks to the long travel  range, its easy to find a comfirtable seating with seat height * Steering rake/reach adjustment. Nice and cool Audio s  System, Plastics are of High quality.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth Gears you can enjoy the gear pattern & swift between gears,  Superb diesel engine:good drivability and 250Nm of Tourque, in city i am getting 14Kmpl and in Highways 20Kmpl.Even in long rides you wont feel tiered i usually go for long rides.

Ride Quality & Handling Handling is very good,Confidence inspiring dynamics, Breaks and chassis.The suspension is well configured to be stiff without becoming uncomfortable for the passengers. It is a good balance without being too hard or too soft. The car never lets any bumps transfer to the passengers.

Final Words Over all good need to improve the service centers in India and finally "I enjoy My Skoda Rapid".

I have purchased new Skoda rapid car from JMD skoda , Thane on 10-Sep-2015.  Oct second week on wards it started giving me trouble. My car has been visited 8-9 times and still having some issues.

Here is the brief history of car issues and i had to visit JMD Bhandup Skoda workshop.

1st visit to Service center

Just  4-5 days after purchasing the car on 10-Sep-2015, i had to visit JMD workshop, Bhandup for door noise issue.

Second Visit to Service center

In month of  Nov, I complaint about car is making some wired noise in front while driving on bad and rough road. I drove my car to your JMD service center, Bhandup. As per analysis done by Skoda team , Car steering rack had to be replace and some engine mount setting needs to be corrected. My car had been parked for around 4 days and JMD service center team replaced the steering rack ( around 5500 km) and did some changes in mount settings and delivered the car at my place. After driving for few KM,  I immediately called Mr Shamit ( Skoda service center)  and complaint about car is having steering tilted towards right side and not centrally aligned.

Third Visit to Service center

After my discussion with Mr Vikram (Skoda After sales head) , I re-sent my car to JMD Bhandup service center. Mr Naval (Skoda workshop manager)  took the test drive and accepted car steering is not centrally aligned and the original issues also persists. my car had been parked for 5 days at service center. After 5 days i got my car back but the first noise issue still persisted and same i have write in remark.

Fourth visit to Service center

Between Third and Fourth visit, I have been continuously following with Mr Vikram and Mr Shamit about new issues started in my car.  After continuous discussion with them, I re-sent my car again with new steering issue. Car Steering wheel, clutch, break paddel started vibrating at certain RPM  and some random noise were coming from inside car dashboard. Mt Rajkumar and Nishank from Skoda took test drive and accepted it as an issue. My car has been parked in work shop for two days and returned back. looking at history and poor service record in past, At the time taking delivery I mentioned in feedback sheet to provide my comments once I drive car for some time. On the same day I called Mr Shamit and visited on the same and explained the new issue occurred during last visit.

After that I ahve visited  Bhandup worke shop 4-5 times but below issues are still there and Skoda service center team is not keen to resolve the issues.

1) Vibration in car steering  and gives feeling of some kind of friction.

2) Feeling similar friction at floor of the car and at break and clutch paddle.

3) Car started making weird noise while going on rough roads.

4) Horrible smell is coming from AC vent.

5)  lack of pickup and very bad engine noise.

Good Style and looking. you will be keen to purchase because of price.Bad handling. Very Poor after sales service. Bad ride quality

Buying experience was very good , bought the car from Mahavir Skoda Jubliee Hills branch - Hyderabad , Telangana 2.Riding experience is precise and crisp , handling in corners , speed, braking etc as expected 3. its my new car and 1st car no regrets with looks style , build quality is very good , and Skoda Mainatenance package gives an added advantage. 4.15000 kms or 1 year whichever is earlier ( no problem as of now ) 5. nothing big abt pros & cons as of now.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Sai and I just bought the 1.5 Skoda Rapid diesel in Feb 2017. I must say it is very pleasant to drive and to sum up ( in 2 words ) "A surprise package". I have driven 900 kms in 21 days and it is a power machine.

City Mileage- 17 to 18.

Highway- 20 to 22.

The NVH levels of this car are not bad in comparison to other diesel cars. Pleasure to drive, steering wheel light on city roads and well weighed on high speeds. There is hardly any body roll noticed while turning, giving you a sense of confidence. Ample leg room for 3 at the back seat.

Safety and Security - 2 airbags by default across all variants.Built quality and engineering involved is Niche... ( SKODA ofcourse).

I love this car... New look, new design, new interiors, great music system, includes rear AC vents (extremely powerful )... niche package.

Day time running lights are powerful and an eye candy.

Powerful engine, Fuel economy,NVH Levels are ok.

Exterior

Before buying this car, I compared it with verna and maruti cars. I like most is the clean true sedan like design, well designed grill and head lamps especially fog lights. strong and flexible shock absorbing front and rear bumpers.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

all required features such adjustable front seats, adjustable steering, external locking arrangement, keyless entry, cruise control, dirive guide for gear selection, easy signal lever, adjustable arm rest, alloy wheels, spaces for easy keep and sufficient boot space. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Good driving comfort with required power control, resonable fuel  economy with 15.5km in city and 18.5km on long drive, smooth gearbox

Ride Quality & Handling

Great riding quality with powerful engine and easy handling due to smooth power steering. I driven around 25000km in year and found comfortable vehicle with powerful breaks.

Final Words

Apart all good words mentioned above it is reliable and well designed vehicle for human safety that I tested in actual road accident. Thank to Skoda for taking this care.

Areas of improvement  

- pls work on to reduce servicing cost.

- harder clutch peddle especially in traffic.

Buying experience: Buying this car was satisfactory.
Riding experience: Very smooth in driveing . And very comfortable.
Details about looks, performance etc: It has very good sporty look both from outside and inside.
Servicing and maintenance: It didn't need much of service but when ever did it was extraordinary and very budget frendly.

I bought my Skoda Rapid ambition 2 months ago, everything is adorable about the car, space and look is good. Perhaps little work on mileage would have been an added feather on the hat.

Ride Quality & Handling

i have Driven with 150/KMph on the Highway, the car is stunning. Great riding quality with powerful engine and easy handling due to smooth power steering. I drive around 2000km in last two months and found comfortable vehicle with powerful breaks.
