Exterior
Exterior is superb.. solidly built and well balanced. Looks like a smaller brother of Innova from the front. Put on an alloy wheel and it beats others like swift zxi.. The toyota unlike others like maruti and Hyundai are really welcoming in all areas both pre and post sales.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Lot of headroom, legroom and shoulder room, can comfortably seat 6 people. Smooth suspension, Amazing steering - toyota is world famous for this. Super fats cooling AC with filters.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Low end torque - typical toyota character.. but its like a long race champion. On the highway it can beat the rest of the pack. Good fuel efficiency..it keeps increasing after a few 1000 kms Super smooth engine and clutch.. ensures your knee joints are well taken care of..sturdy but precise and easy gear shifting.
Ride Quality & Handling
Superb ride and handling. Suspension is much softer. Back seat riders enjoy a stress free ride in this vehicle. Lot of room for head, knee and shoulders.
Final Words
Best value for money pack. No one else gives this much top finished car with ABS,AIRBAGS etc at this price. The engine quality and durability makes it the one of the most respected companies in the world. Go to any part of the world, you can see a toyota there..that's the faith toyota commands over its products.
Areas of improvement

This should be improved.

Exterior Very nice style, good looks, large tyres.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Powerful A/C, spacious seats, very roomy, comfortable and stable ride.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very smooth engine, good performance, excellent fuel economy.
Ride Quality & Handling very easy handling, best ride, very smooth and stable.
Final Words Very good styling and value for money, one of the best hatchbacks. very stable at high speeds. due to large wheel very comfortable ride. very peppy and effortless handling of the car. spacious and very roomy and can sit five large adults without getting cramped. being Toyota, best quality, good service and excellent workmanship. the horn is poor and needs replacement as it cannot be heard on the highways. the horn is ok for city driving. very powerful A/C and best use of space. best music system and quality. at high speeds due to ABS and EBD, the care handles very nicely and give immense confidence in handling. dual airbags give you the safety angle.

Exterior Nice exteriors. Same as sedan etios from front. It has been given good looks at back.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are good as compared to other cars in this segment. One gets power steering, all power windows, cooled glove box,4 speakers etc at the lowest price in this segment. Interiors are simple but look good with combination of black and grey. Lots of space in the car both for front seats and rear seats passengers. I made a trip of 1400 kms in 2 days and didnt felt tired at all in the car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good and silent. Fuel economy is great for a petrol car. It gave mileage between 19-20 on highway. But what I like most it gives good average in city conditions also.Normally around 16-17. Gearbox is ok.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good considering indian conditions where road quality is generally not good. Handling of the car is ok with electronic power steering.
Final Words I liked the car a lot. Its a good overall package from Toyota. Its G model is a complete value for money. I bought the car in discount season so I got a lot more benefits. Plus toyota's service cost is also cheap in comparisons to other companies. Overall drive and ride quality is good. If you are looking for a Hatchback, must give a shot to Liva.

Exterior
Outstanding and royal looks. Toyota is known to offer the best in class looks... Heavy bonnet cover. Hard body, prevents dents. Perfect ground clearance. Runs smoothly through logging water.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Much more spacious than amaze and swift, Classy interiors, Super powerful A.C.
When compared to anyother car in the class it wins the spotlight everytime. Too clear speakers, awesome sound quality. Cool odometer lights - blue colour.
There is also an A. C duct outlet provided in the dashboard to cool the water kept inside (awesome feature).
Back seat comfortable adjusts 3 people with some space still left. Too comfortable soft seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Awesome engine performance, no engine noise in diesel, great fuel economy. Smooth gear-shifting. Awesome acceleration. ABS too provided.
Ride Quality & Handling
Smooth drive... Good turning radius...Comfort packed ride…
Final Words
It's an awesome car, offering everything ever wanted…Surly value for money…

Exterior The car has a strong shoulder line with an upward cut along the bottom of the door. Etios Liva Diesel looks much more proportioned and well balanced in comparison to bland looking sedan variant. Not world class but same time not bad either. Its reasonably good looking car. Looks great in almost all the available colors.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) 2013 LIVA interior much better same segment car like swift ,polo i20 .The interior is bigger brighter and comfortable for five people. The leg room in the back seed is best in class. Its a allround family car comfortably transport 5 people.AC is powerful and quick enough to cool the car in no time. Music system that is available in V & VX is really good and you would get the same 2DIN for below 10K for the G variant also. There are no door speakers provided on the backside. All the 4 speakers are placed in the front part. I have seen the same in A-Star, but not sure how it would be useful.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Toyota Etios Liva diesel is powered by same engine which powers the Corolla Altis diesel but it has been fine-tuned to increase the fuel efficieny which is expected to be around 22 kmpl on highway. But the negative aspect of this is that power is only 67 bhp, which seems to be very less for a car of this segment.
Ride Quality & Handling ts made for city driving and it will definitely do that job very well. Very light steering offers best in class driving experience and offers excellent maneuverability in city driving conditions. Moreover 4.9 mtr turning radius gives ability to drive comfortably in city road conditions. 4-cylinder engine is very responsive and idle for "mostly city and occassional high way drives". I can say the ride quality is very superior though a little under performant in the class, but that is understandable. Suspensions are cleverly used in the car.
Final Words Quality product which is reliable and you will definately appreciate it every day. So if you are looking for a premium hatchback look no further.

Exterior It has a nice Exterior, Good Smily. Like it's Structure and colour quality. It looks huge hatchback as it has a much more space than any other hatch.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is not so remarkable, but Ok, Not Bad too. But other Hatches giving definately best interior than it. I'm now proud owner if GD and driven 1000kms, mix experience on H/W and city. I'm damn sure, no hatch in this segment will give so much space inside. It's too Spacious and comfortable. All necessary features are present with ABS & EBD. don't know why Music system loaded? Anybody looking for more space, extra legroom with height, try this vehicle first.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox So Powerfull engine, Car really takes you at awesome speed with or w/o AC. Feeling little noisy in 1st gear with AC, but Deisel engine noises little. Good control with ABS and car grip. Smooth gearbox, smooth stearing, stearing tilt is very useful.
Ride Quality & Handling I've enjoyed always it's ride. Space given me good comfort with my family.
Final Words It's a spacious hatch with a Worlwide Brand having D2 deisel engine. Ignore iterior and enjoy power of Engine, good milage with cool AC and glove box. I've test driven of almost all hatch cars where I found Polo and Micra as competative deisel versions where Livas inside space beaten both. I20 is costlier than it with same features.
Areas of improvement Interior, and I think soft suspensions.

Update 44000K
1. Got front suspension problem resolved at 40K service. Got front suspension replaced under warranty.
2. Mileage is 22-23 in highway around 100-110kmph.
3. Maintenance cost is low compared to swift. Swift average servicing costs about 7000 with mineral engine oil. With recommended synthetic oil it would cost 1500 more. Etis average service cost is 3500. Got smile pack 40K/50K/60K km servicing together for Rs10000. My friend's swift third service(20K km) alone costed him Rs10000 with mineral oil.
Serive/maintenance costs as below
1000kms - Rs50
10k kms - Rs1830
20k kms- Rs1850
30k kms - Rs3300
40k/50k/60k - Rs10000
Nothing else is changed in car till now. left headlight is gone. Using spare headlight that came with car.
4. No major problems faced till now. Facing a small problem with very very minor noise in steering. Hoping to get it resolved in 50k servicing.
5. Engine/Road NOISE is the is the major problem with this car.
Selection
I wanted a diesel car which should be.
1. very driveable(my definition to this word is without frequent gear changes and should be able to pass though any speed beaker in 2nd gear) in city.
2. should have ABS and Airbags(really useful??)..So I wanted a topend model in any car that i select.
2. composed highway drive(at 90-110kmph)..as I travel almost 1500kms per month on highway.
3. Good mileage and ride quality(I doubt whether my Liva met ride quality req).
4. Very good interiors and features like alloys, fog lamps.
Shortlisting and Delivery:
It was easy for me as most of the models are out of my budget :) my budget was 6.5 to 7 at max
I20/POLO/PUNTO/MICRA/PULSE/SWIFT --- topend models are out of my budget more than 7.5L
vista --- not considered for its build quality(may be should have considered this too after looking at LIVA's average build quality)
Beat --- I liked everything apart from space
LIVA --- in my budget and good proven D4D engine and spacious
I alomost selected Chevy beat..as it has everything i wanted and most importantly it is the cheapest of all(6.5L onroad hyd LT with OPTION pack)..I must say Beat's driveability and ride quality is excellent..
Finally my wife's suggestion arrived :) All She wanted is a safe "spacious" car..
All of a sudden by selection is gone..Beat has very less rear seat space..no thigh support at all..
Now I left with only one option LIVA as vista is out of my mind..without lot of thinking or research i selected LIVA by trusting T-brand
Delivery was smooth as expected from Harsha Toyota, Hyderabad..they did nothing wrong here..
So now did i get what I wanted?? here are my initial observations...
pros:
Very driveable in city..you can go past all the speed breakers in 2nd gear..
spacious..three guys can perfectly fit into back seat
good progressive breaking(personally i dont like swift/beat sudden beaking mainly at lower speeds)
cons:
average build(way below expectations) finishing..Look at dash and other interior corners for 10 mins..u will come to know i am right..Am disappointed with Toyota in this regard...
Car doors looks very light..not sure how safe is it..Its lightness is evident from its weight of 980kgs(smaller beat weighs nearly 1100kgs)..
When i close the back doors it makes lot of noise..reminds my 4 year old 800..I can give u hell lot of examples that its not built well..
bad insulation(high NVH)..u will hear hell lot of tyre and engine noise from inside even when ur or good road with AC on..On bad roads it gets worst..i could not believe that 10days old car rattles like this..
not very smooth gear shifts(hoping it will improve after first service)
very soft front suspension..front suspention jumps and gives weird sound at small sharp speed breakers at low speeds..
low ground clearance..In paper it might look same as other(173 mm)..My car hit the ground 4 times in first 3 days..nothing major though :)
average interiors compared to ther cars in the segment..I think everyone agrees with me..
costly spares(4 chrome finish rings for AC vents costs 1500)??? Actual value of those rings cant be more than Rs 100..I know spares will be costlier than value but not expected to be this high..May be its too early to comment based on only one...
Missing features like(alloys/autodown power windows/fog lamps/boot lamp)
very low powered head lamps(my old M800 lamps looked better)??? Is it the case with every other car that default lamps are very less powered??
turbo lag??
In-built speakers sound quality is below average..
Mileage and performance:
performance was good if u shift gears correctly to stay in turbo zone..If u dont it struggles..To stay in turbo jone the gear shift speeds are..
1st to 2nd at 10kmph
2nd to 3rd at 25-30 kmph
3rd to 4th at 40-45 kmph
4th to 5th at 60 kmph
Every gear pulls well from even lower speeds than mentioned above but pulls slowly..I tried to pull from 50 kmph in 5th but it took lot of time(5-8 secs to get past 60kmph).
Weekned i went to Kurnool from Hyderabad(230 + 230)
Full tak to full tank mileage 20KMPL with 95% AC on(but AC at min level)..480 kms(460 on highway + 20 in city) with 24 litres of diesel..hoping it tobe improved another 2kmpl after first service..
Highway driving is mostly at 90-100 kmph, occasionally touched 110-120..engine is happy at 110kmph. I tried to push it further but it looked stressed..
Gear shifts are as specified above to keep it in toubo zone.
Other observations:
Antenna wont come as standard..and u must buy it from showroom..its not available in open market.
Need to leave engine idle for 2-3 minutes to allow turbo changer to get cool down(after long drives, not required for city driving though)..is it the case with all the diesel engines??
Service intervals are 10k, where as its 5k for beat..
Final verdict: Its early to say but i am already feeling that should have gone for beat :(

Exterior I found it better than many mordern hatches available in the market. Good smilling grill and stylish bumper. The border between door windows are good. How ever for Diesel GD no crome option available and doors are not really feels chunky.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Speace inside is like a seadan car, Its more than any hatch available. Seats are good but not the best. Dash board is dull, no techo meter option for GD version. The speedometer is located center of the car which I dont like. Well its all upto personal taste but in space and comfort point of view its the best.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good drivebility in city, minimal turbo lag, bumper can be taken on 2nd gear. However engine makes little more noise when it statrs or above 3500 rpm( may be more than 120 kmph speed). Grear box is really smooth and the concept of reverse gear excites me!
Fuel ecomony is claimed as 23.59 in highway and may be 17+ in city. Howver I have not yet tested.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality & handling is awesome, it handles potholes and bumpers really well, thanks for retuning the suspension to 170 mm.
Final Words
Its too early too comment, but I am till now happy with the performance and ride quality of the car. Car is responsive in city and specious. We generally drive 90% time in city and 10% in highways, if your requirement meets above criteria then Liva is a pratical city car which can give you comfort, space, good fuel economy, drivabily , T badge and easy maintenance option.
Areas of improvement 1. Interior plastic quality. 2. Basic features like sun flims, driver seat adjustment 3. Engine noise reduction.
Great Drivebility, Great space, fuel economy, decent exterior look, T badgeLittle dull interior, little noise engine in 1 & 2nd gear, not tuned for performanceExterior/Styles

Exterior From out side the car is looking fair.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Dash board, door pannels and seats are looking below standard. But the car is really spacious especiausly for rear rear leg room and boot space. coupholders in easch door and center console are really usefull. In the rar offers very confort seating for three people. The flat floor is very comfor the middle passenger in the back seat.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Not much good in case of power, but not bad also. I am getting a milage of 18-19KMPL in all cases independend of highway or city.
Ride Quality & Handling There is a sound from suspension in bumps and gutters when we do not pay more attention to slow down. Overall riding quality is fair. even the meter console is looking bad, its position-in the middle offers a better visiblity for the driver.
Final Words A good falily car!! not good for rash driving at all!!
