Maruti Alto 800

I always have heard Ferraris and Lambos, their speed, and all other boasting. But once you get into the alto. Forget about all the other cars. The true sports car is alto. It’s multi-talented. It has a good history in the Himalayas. Off-road courses where Scorpio and Fortuner have failed, Alto has shown them levels with its excellent off-road capabilities.

Driving Comfort: The Alto is designed to be a city car, so it’s quite maneuverable and easy to drive. Its compact size makes parking and navigating tight spaces a breeze. Handling and Ride Quality: The Alto generally has a soft suspension setup, which provides a comfortable ride over city roads. However, it may feel a bit bumpy on rougher or uneven surfaces. The steering is light and responsive, ideal for urban driving. Engine Performance: The Alto typically comes with a small engine (often around 800cc to 1000cc), which is sufficient for city driving and occasional highway trips. It’s designed to be fuel-efficient rather than sporty, so acceleration might be modest, but it’s perfectly adequate for everyday use. Fuel Efficiency: One of the Alto’s strong points is its fuel efficiency. It's designed to be economical, making it a good choice for those who are conscious of running costs. Interior Space: While the Alto is compact, the interior is surprisingly spacious for its size. The seats are designed for comfort in short to moderate trips, and there’s reasonable headroom and legroom for a small car. Features and Tech: Depending on the variant, the Alto might come with basic features. Newer models include improved infotainment systems, air conditioning, and power steering, but advanced tech and luxury features are limited compared to higher-end models.

The 800 offers an affordable buying experience, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. It boasts decent looks, adding to its appeal. However, the driving experience leaves much to be desired, as it lacks stability and comfort. On the plus side, servicing and maintenance are cheap and affordable, ensuring low ongoing costs. In summary, while the 800 is easy on the wallet and looks decent, it falls short in driving stability and comfort.

Alto has been one of my favourite compact cars in India, I have learned driving using this car only and it has been my pleasure to be able to drive this wonderful car. I am making my mind to purchase this car in the future.
