Skoda India is yet to announce the prices of the Rapid Edition X officially. However, our dealer sources have revealed the introductory prices and are accepting bookings for the vehicle, which has a starting price of Rs 10.2 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The prices are similar to the Monte Carlo edition. However, these are festive prices and thus are lower than the actual showroom prices. The petrol manual is priced at Rs 10.2 lakhs and the automatic costs Rs 11.74 lakhs. On the other hand, the diesel manual starts at Rs 12.24 lakhs, while the diesel automatic retails at Rs 13.24 lakhs (all ex-showroom Mumbai).
As we had recently revealed that this Rapid Edition X brings in most of the features and cosmetic upgrades from the Monte Carlo edition. So, this sedan gets many black-painted components like the grille, ORVMs, rear diffuser and lip-spoiler on the tailgate. The car rides on black-painted 16-inch machined alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the new features include Onyx Alcantara leather, an aluminum finish for the scuff plates, faux carbon fibre trim and a flat bottom steering wheel. The black seat upholstery comes with contrasting red stitching, which can be seen on the steering wheel and gear lever cover as well.
The Skoda Rapid Edition X comes powered with the same engines that power the regular sedan. This means, one has the choices between a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel mill. The petrol engine produces 103bhp of power, while the oil-burner belts out 108bhp of power. Both these engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. However, one can also opt for a petrol mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic, while the diesel model can be had with a seven-speed DSG.
The bookings for the Skoda Edition X have begun at dealerships and deliveries might commence this month as well.
