Audi is set to expand its Q range of SUVs and crossovers at both ends. While there are plenty of reports suggesting a new flagship model in the form of the Q8, it’s the entry-level Q2 that will allow Audi to go more mass-market across several countries. The Q2, in fact, could arrive as early as March during this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Looking at the rendering, the Q2 appears quite big and that’s despite the fact that it will be sold as a sub-compact crossover model. The long front overhang and the distance between the wheel and the firewall is an indication of the Q2 being based on the MQB platform although not that of the A1 small car.
The Q2 looks relatively rugged compared to the Q3 and Q5. The grille protrudes from the bumper like a nose and also sits high for a Q model. As for the engine options, Audi could offer four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines paired with either manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.
Audi is expected to reveal the Q2 at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Globally, this new model will compete with the Nissan Juke and the Mini Countryman. As for the Indian market, the Q2 will sit below the Q3 which is currently the most adorable model from Audi’s crossover/SUV range.
