Just like the other car manufacturers, Jaguar Land Rover has stepped up to develop an electric car. As per a report, the British manufacturer is planning to develop and build their first electric car in Austria.
While there is not much information on this development, it could easily be seen as an attempt to match BMW’s electric car dream. It is believed that the production of this new electric car could commence as early as next year and Jaguar Land Rover is also considering a small production line at an existing factory that could turn out around 10,000 vehicles a year. The company has zeroed in on Austria because it is a part of their new strategy to expand their worldwide manufacturing reach.
BMW with their i3 and the i8 are aggressively capturing the electric and hybrid vehicles market share worldwide. With European Union getting stricter over emission norms, it makes sense for manufacturers to invest in environment friendly vehicles.
